A message from Ms. Lacina: We have had a great first month at Wood Junior High! We have enjoyed getting to know your students and see our returning students in eighth grade! The safety of your students is my number one priority. I want them to BE safe and FEEL safe. With that in mind, I ask that you remember that we do not have supervision for students before school until 8:45. Please do not drop off students before then. Greetings from Emily and Piper! Emily Clifton, LISW is Wood's school-based counselor. She has been working as a therapist in the Quad Cities for over 10 years now and sees children and adolescents for a variety of reasons. If you feel like you've been wanting to get your child in for therapy but are having trouble with transportation, this may be a good resource for you. Emily accepts most insurances. If interested, please contact your school counselor (Terronez and Nock) to see if your student would be appropriate.

Between the dates of September 12-23rd all students will be taking an aReading and aMath test. This is a test taken on the Chromebook that measures reading and math skills. The results help us make instructional decisions to help students be successfull in reading and math. Take a moment and review these test taking strategies with your student!
