The Vulcan Ruffner Mountain Project is a partnership established in 2002 to manage various conservation projects that help preserve and restore habitats for multiple flora and fauna species. Vulcan provides volunteers and resources to assist the Ruffner Staff keeping these projects active and successful. The Project has been Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) Certified since 2005 and is one of many Vulcan WHC certified sites around the country.

Our Vulcan Ruffner Mountain Project was awarded Gold Certification in January for the past two years of work with the Wildlife Habitat Council. The Gold Certification is good for another three years. A Huge shout out to all of the volunteers who made this happen! We now have a good plan to move forward with keeping the projects certified.
Our Spring Workday is March 28th. We will help the conservation staff to get ready for Ruffner's annual Native Plant Sale.
The Native Plant Sale is Saturday, April 7th from 9am-2pm. This is Ruffner's biggest single fundraiser. Ruffner will be partnering with Turkey Creek Nature Preserve is the effort.
Watch the Ruffner calendar for all the wonderful events and activities going on this spring!
