end of last year on The Undies recording experience over at Goat Pen Studios. Since then we have been working with a variety of talented musicians from the Norwich music scene to produce Under 1 Riff. On Thursday 5th July, we will come together to launch the album at Norwich Arts Centre with performances from Anto Morra, Chris Pidgeon, The Undies, Matt Watson, Falling From Trees and Little Red Kings. We are so excited! Tickets are on sale from www.norwichartscentre/events or from Under 1 Roof direct. You can buy the album from our website www.under-1-roof.org.uk or from the event where the hard copy will be sold at a special price! It's worth buying the hard copy just for the artwork which has all been put together by our art groups and on display in the centre.

The countdown is on!
As I type the finishing touches are being done to complete our very first St Martins U1R album - Under 1 Riff.
You may remember our report towards the
1. Make sure you wear sun cream. Use a high factor and reapply. You can get sun cream from the budget shops in the city so it doesn't have to cost much.
2. Make sure you keep hydrated. Carry a bottle of water with you if you plan on being out in high sun.
3. Keep your head covered. Wide brimmed hats are best.
4. Wear UV-absorbent shades. Sunglasses don't have to be expensive, but they should block 99 to 100 percent of UVA and UVB radiation.
5. Limit exposure. UV rays are most intense between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. If you're unsure about the sun's intensity, take the shadow test: If your shadow is shorter than you, the sun's rays are the day's strongest.
This is the second big step forward in quick succession having secured an independent tenancy of a flat in February! Five years ago he was sleeping rough and misusing alcohol and drugs. It was during this time that he ended up spending 14 months in prison.
Not long after his release he first came into contact with St Martins, and was first in Bishopbridge House and then was supported in one of our group home properties for two years.
Michael started coming to U1R in November 2016. He has taken part in IT courses, healing sessions, benefited from support in budget planning and fitness sessions. He says it has “improved my social skills” and “being inspired to take on more regular exercise. I now run or cycle everyday.” He’s now been clean from all substances for three and half years!
“I have a much better awareness of myself and the world. Keeping active and interacting with other people has been really important in me getting to this point and avoiding loneliness and boredom. If you don’t engage you’re going to stagnate.”
We’d like to congratulate Under 1 Roof member Michael on starting a new job this month working in social care for residents with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
Michael last worked about 10 years ago as a Furnace Master and crane driver, so this definitely marks a new venture for him!

AGE SHALL NOT WEARY THEM NOR THE YEARS CONDEMN
AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN AND IN THE MORNING WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
5th JULY NORWICH ARTS CENTRE - UNDER ONE RIFF CD LAUNCH NIGHT
Anto is a seasoned solo performer with a rebel heart combined with a pure hedonistic sense of humour. He will be performing a selection of his punk/folk protest songs.
Doors Open at 7pm - first performer on at 7.30pm
Final band who stepped in at the last minute to save the day at our last gig at the arts centre return to wow fans. A vision of alternative roots rock brought the five band members together, and with a powerful live show they have not looked back. Their music combines a gritty roots quality reminiscent of British classic blues rock bands of the 70s with strong melodies and elements of modern alternative rock.
We would like to thank all the acclaimed local musicians that have teamed up to support St Martins with a unique performance comprising of 6 sets. Our evening features The Undies, Little Red Kings, Chris Pidgeon, Anto Morra, Falling from Trees, Matt Watson and Skinny Boy. Money raised from the gig and sale of the album will go towards the running of Under One Roof. Tickets are available from here for £5. £8 on the door. Please come down and support our night and CD launch. CDs will be on sale at the gig for £5.00.
Main Stage: Little Red Kings
Standing at the crossroads
Not knowing where to turn
No faith left in the feet
No fuel left to burn
Everything that was believed
Lies blown to bits and bleeds
Have faith in being faithless
God never was much good
All we have are images
In paint stone or wood
A crescent or a cross
Death counts up the cost
The past is gone and useless
And living there is fruitless
