LILRC AWARDS HOSPITAL TECHNOLOGY GRANTS! Congratulations to the following LILRC HLSP Member Hospitals that were recently awarded grants from LILRC. Hollis Health Sciences Library at NYU Langone Hospital has been awarded a grant of funds to support an Online Repository for Student Scholarly Outputs. The project seeks to motivate NYU Long Island School of Medicine students and to promote their scholarly productivity. Ongoing student research has been tracked in spreadsheet software; the grant-supported project will allow Hollis Health Sciences Library to instead launch an online institutional repository that will be designed to store, manage, and share students' scholarly outputs, including posters, papers, meeting absracts, and student projects. Stony Brook University Health Sciences library was awarded a grant gift-in-kind of a 24" iMac computer to support its project, Versatile Library Consultation Station. The computer will allow HSL librarians to provide consultation services to patrons whose own computers are Mac products and who need assistance using a variety of software, databases, and bibliographic management tools. Librarians will now be able to demonstrate various research tools on both Mac and PC operating systems, becoming more effective in helping their patrons.
