Without barriers’. That was and still is Natalie’s vision for the arts and culture landscape. In her vision, a creative ecosystem where artist(s) can create their works and collaborate with one another at ease, where audience(s) have ready access to experience, engage and participate in a myraid of arts and culture programmes and where the arts co-exist as an integral contributor to building a nation's identity and community soul, need to exist without barriers. A MFA graduate of California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) with a specialization in production management, Natalie’s key interests are in bridging conversations and generating platforms for artists to thrive. She has always been drawn towards generating public interest in the arts and encouraging audiences to experience art exchanges in different spaces not limited to the proscenium theatre. By bringing performances to the masses in non- theatrical spaces, the audience is not constrained to familiar experiences in familiar areas. There are no boundaries in where an artist can practice his/her art form. Similarly, there are limitless possible spaces where one can experience and engage with different art form. Her experience and training as a production manager for varied performances and spaces since 2000 has led her to the inquiry of the relationship between the artist and the audience. In her capacity as a production co-ordinator with Esplanade- Theatres on the Bay, a leading arts center in Singapore from 2005 till March 2014, she led teams to manage major annual festivals including Huayi, Mosaic Music Festival, Tapestry, Da:ns Festival, Baybeats and The Marina Bay Singapore Countdown. Natalie is the recipient of the Creative Producers Development Programme 2015-2016 by National Arts Council and CultureLink (Singapore). As a creative producer, she co-produced Blue Prince (The Substation, Sept Fest in 2012) by The Blue Statesmen (Singapore), 50/50 (by Loo Zihan, Brisbane Festival 2016) and her current commitments include spearheading disability led projects and developing disabled artists in Access Path Productions as executive producer. Since the inception of EnCre8 in 2018, this social enterprise which Natalie currently serves as Managing Director, has produced original works, led pilot training programmes and contributed actively to accessibility in performances through its' creative arm - Access Path Productions. Access Path's first performance which premiered in Singapore in May 2018 at the National Museum of Singapore, “And Suddenly I Disappear… The UK/Singapore ‘d’ Monologues” by Ted Hughes Award UK playwright Kaite O’Reilly was awarded the international commission by Unlimited Festival (UK) and performed in Southbank Centre with several tours to Qxford, Leicester and Cardiff. Her key interest to bring live performances to the masses in non-theatrical spaces also led her to explore art making on a personal level as a visual artist. She held her first interactive installation exhibition "A walk with ... " at the Creative Design Space in 2011. Natalie's commitment as an arts practitioner lies in the actions that she undertakes to fulfil the multiple roles, identifying missing gaps and removing barriers that allow artists, audiences and allies of the Arts to be the best versions of themselves.
