(Charles Haddon Spurgeon) “Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. To know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom.” (Charles Swindoll) “Wisdom comes privately from God as a by-product of right decisions, godly reactions, and the application of spiritual principles to daily circumstances. Wisdom comes… not from trying to do great things for God… but more from being faithful to the small, obscure tasks few people ever see.” (Psalm 119:33-40) “33Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes; and I will keep it to the end. 34Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart. 35Lead me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it. 36Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain! 37Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways. 38Confirm to your servant your promise, that you may be feared. 39Turn away the reproach that I dread, for your rules are good. 40Behold, I long for your precepts; in your righteousness give me life!”

Presider: Sijin Yang Preacher: P. Jim Jung CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 119:169-176 169Let my cry come before you, O Lord; give me understanding according to your word! 170Let my plea come before you; deliver me according to your word. 171My lips will pour forth praise, for you teach me your statutes. 172My tongue will sing of your word, for all your commandments are right. 173Let your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts. 174I long for your salvation, O Lord, and your law is my delight. 175Let my soul live and praise you, and let your rules help me. 176I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek your servant, for I do not forget your commandments. SILENT CONFESSION Let us prepare our hearts by privately confessing our sins to our loving Heavenly Father. Be honest before God, and bear your heart and soul to Him. Thank Him and Praise Him for the good things; and confess those sins you knowingly and unknowingly commit, even the sin of omitting the good that you ought to have done. (Silent Private Prayer) ASSURANCE OF PARDON (In Christ, our sins are covered!) Hear the good news! Psalm 103:10-12 “10He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. 11For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; 12as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.” PRAYER OF ADORATION AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Heidelberg Catechism – Lord’s Day #40 – THE LAW OF GOD 105. What does God require in the sixth Commandment? That I do not revile, hate, insult, or kill my neighbor either in thought, word, or gesture, much less in deed, whether by myself or by another,[1]but lay aside all desire of revenge;[2]moreover, that I do not harm myself, nor willfully run into any danger.[3]Wherefore also to restrain murder the magistrate is armed with the sword.[4] [1]Mt. 5:21-22; 26:52; Gen. 9:6.[2]Eph. 4:26; Rom. 1:19; Mt. 5:25; 18:35.[3]Mt. 4:7; Rom. 13:14; Col. 2:23.[4]Ex. 21:14; *Mt. 18:6-7. 106. Does this Commandment speak only of killing? No, but in forbidding murder God teaches us that He abhors its very root, namely, envy,[1]hatred,[2]anger,[3]and desire of revenge; and that in His sight all these are hidden murder.[4] [1]Rom. 1:28-32.[2]I Jn. 2:9-11.[3]Jas. 2:13; Gal. 5:19-21.[4]I Jn. 3:15 *Jas. 3:16; *1:19. 107. But is this all that is required: that we do not kill our neighbor? No, for in condemning envy, hatred, and anger, God requires us to love our neighbor as ourselves,[1]to show patience, peace, meekness,[2]mercy,[3]and kindness[4]toward him, and to prevent his hurt as much as possible;[5]also, to do good even unto our enemies.[6] [1]Mt. 7:12; 22:39.[2]Eph. 4:2; Gal. 6:1-2; Rom. 12:18.[3]Mt. 5:7; Lk. 6:36.[4]Rom. 12:10.[5]Ex. 23:5.[6]Mt. 5:44-45; Rom. 12:20- 21; *Col. 3:12-14; *Mt. 5:9.
