“God's Kingdom is present in its beginnings, but still future in its fullness.” Tim Keller “The only way the Kingdom of God is going to be manifest in this world before Christ comes is if we manifest it by the way we live as citizens of Heaven and subjects of the King.” R.C. Sproul "It is not what we do that matters, but what a sovereign God chooses to do through us. God doesn't want our success; He wants us. He doesn't demand our achievements; He demands our obedience. The Kingdom of God is a kingdom of paradox, where through the ugly defeat of a cross, a holy God is utterly glorified. Victory comes through defeat; healing through brokenness; finding self through losing self." Charles Colson
Presider: Jason 'Jacko' Ju Preacher: Alex Kim CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 3:1-5 1O Lord, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me; 2many are saying of my soul, “There is no salvation for him in God.” 3But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. 4I cried aloud to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy hill. 5I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the Lord sustained me. SILENT CONFESSION Let us prepare our hearts by privately confessing our sins to our loving Heavenly Father. Be honest before God, and bear your heart and soul to Him. Thank Him and Praise Him for the good things; and confess those sins you knowingly and unknowingly commit, even the sin of omitting the good that you ought to have done. (Silent Private Prayer) ASSURANCE OF PARDON (In Christ, our sins are covered!) Hear the good news of the forgiveness of your sins! Romans 5:8-9 “8But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.” PRAYER OF ADORATION AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The New City Catechism – Q&A #22 Q. Why must the redeemer be truly human? A. That in human nature he might on our behalf perfectly obey the whole law and suffer the punishment for human sin; and also that he might sympathize with our weaknesses. Hebrews 2:17 Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen! From Matthew 6:9-13; plus doxological conclusion as per WSC, Q/A#107 – ”The conclusion of the Lord's Prayer, which is, For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen, teacheth us to take our encouragement in prayer from God only, and in our prayers to praise him, ascribing kingdom, power, and glory to him; and, in testimony of our desire, and assurance to be heard, we say, Amen.”
