(G. K. Chesterton) “As long as matters are really hopeful, hope is a mere flattery or platitude; it is only when everything is hopeless that hope begins to be a strength. Like all the Christian virtues, it is as unreasonable as it is indispensable.†(Oswald Chambers) “All we need to experience is that we have ‘passed out of death into life.’ What we need to know takes all time and eternity.†(Reginald Wallis) “The triumphant Christian does not fight for victory; he celebrates a victory already won. The victorious life is Christ’s business, not yours.â€

Preacher: P. Jim Jung CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 107:1-3 Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! 2Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble 3and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.
SILENT CONFESSION Let us prepare our hearts by privately confessing our sins to our loving Heavenly Father. Be honest before God, and bear your heart and soul to Him. Thank Him and Praise Him for the good things; and confess those sins you knowingly and unknowingly commit, even the sin of omitting the good that you ought to have done. (Silent Private Prayer)
ASSURANCE OF PARDON (In Christ, our sins are covered!) Here the good news! Romans 8:1-2 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.â€â€¨ PRAYER OF ADORATION
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Heidelberg Catechism – Lord’s Day #35 – THE LAW OF GOD 96. What does God require in the second Commandment? That we in no way make any image of God,[1] nor worship Him in any other way than He has commanded us in His Word.[2] [1]Deut. 4:15-19; Isa. 40:18, 25. Rom. 1:22-24; Acts 17:29. [2]I Sam. 15:23; Deut. 12:30-32; Mt. 15:9; *Deut. 4:23-24; *Jn. 4:24. 97. May we not make any image at all? God may not and cannot be imaged in any way; as for creatures, though they may indeed be imaged, yet God forbids the making or keeping of any likeness of them, either to worship them or to serve God by them.[1] [1]Ex. 23:24-25; 34:13-14; Deut. 7:5; 12:3; 16:22; II Kgs. 18:4; *Jn. 1:18. 98. But may not pictures be tolerated in churches as books for the people? No, for we should not be wiser than God, who will not have His people taught by dumb idols,[1] but by the lively preaching of His Word.[2] [1]Jer. 10:8; Hab. 2:18-19. [2]II Pet. 1:19; II Tim. 3:16-17; Rom. 10:17.

an enduring principle of tithing of our gross income as the baseline for the Christian’s worship through giving (2 Cor 9:7; Malachi 3:8-10). If every church member gave 10%, we would have enough financial resources for all the gospel ministry God is calling our church to do. Let the Spirit guide you in all final matters.
