Sunday Program
(John Calvin, 1536) “Nearly all wisdom we possess, that is to say, true and sound wisdom, consists of two parts: the knowledge of God and of ourselves.” (Harvard College, trustees statement in 1636) “Let every student be plainly instructed, and earnestly pressed to consider well (that the) main end of his life and studies is to know God and Jesus Christ… and therefore to lay Christ in the bottom, as the only foundation of all sound knowledge and learning.” (William Cowper, 1779) “I was a grovelling creature once; And basely cleaved to earth; I wanted spirit to renounce the clod that gave me birth. But God has breathed upon a worm; And sent me from above; Wings such as clothe an angel’s form; The wings of joy and love.”

Presider: P. Jim Jung Preacher: P. Jim Jung CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 85:8-13 8Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints; but let them not turn back to folly. 9Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land. 10Steadfast love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other. 11Faithfulness springs up from the ground, and righteousness looks down from the sky. 12Yes, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase. 13Righteousness will go before him and make his footsteps a way. SILENT CONFESSION Let us prepare our hearts by privately confessing our sins to our loving Heavenly Father. Be honest before God, and bear your heart and soul to Him. Thank Him and Praise Him for the good things; and confess those sins you knowingly and unknowingly commit, even the sin of omitting the good that you ought to have done. (Silent Private Prayer) ASSURANCE OF PARDON (In Christ, our sins are covered!) Hear the good news of the forgiveness of your sins! Romans 8:15-17“ “15For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.” PRAYER OF ADORATION (Joseph) SONGS OF PRAISE Only a Holy God In Tenderness OFFERING Give Me Faith To help you think about your level of giving, here is the financial snapshot of HCC for this month: Last week’s Giving: $2,988.90 Total Giving for May: $16,609.70 Monthly Budget: $21,500 Sydney Space: $50,779.21 GENERAL TITHES & OFFERINGS vs. SYDNEY SPACE OFFERING These are two separate HCC accounts (BSB: 082 057).
