(Kevin DeYoung) “Jesus was not just a prophet but the fulfilment of all prophecy.” (Richard Baker) “If there be glory laid up for them that die in the Lord; much more shall they be glorified that die for the Lord.” (Justin Martyr) “No one makes us afraid or lead us into captivity as we have set our faith on Jesus. For though we are beheaded, and crucified, and exposed to beasts and chains and fire and all other forms of torture, it is plain that we do not forsake the confession of our faith, but the more things of this kind which happens to us the more are there others who become believers… through the name of Jesus.”
Presider: E. David Choi Preacher: P. Jim Jung CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 5:4–8 4For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not dwell with you. 5The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers. 6You destroy those who speak lies; the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man. 7But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love, will enter your house. I will bow down toward your holy temple in the fear of you. 8Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies; make your way straight before me. SILENT CONFESSION Let us prepare our hearts by privately confessing our sins to our loving Heavenly Father. Be honest before God, and bear your heart and soul to Him. Thank Him and Praise Him for the good things; and confess those sins you knowingly and unknowingly commit, even the sin of omitting the good that you ought to have done. (Silent Private Prayer) ASSURANCE OF PARDON (In Christ, our sins are covered!) Hear the good news of the forgiveness of your sins! Psalm 32:3-5 “3For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. 4For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. 5I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.” PRAYER OF ADORATION AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The New City Catechism – Q&A #27 Q. Are all people, just as they were lost through Adam, saved through Christ? Are all people, just as they were lost through Adam, saved through Christ? Romans 5:17 For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.
