"Truth is so obscure in these times, and falsehood so established, that, unless we love the truth, we cannot know it." - Blaise Pascal “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!" - Matthew 23:37 "Where I found truth, there found I my God, who is the truth itself." - Saint Augustine
Presider: Jason Ju Preacher: Sijin Yang CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 5:1-3 1Give ear to my words, O Lord; consider my groaning. 2Give attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to you do I pray. 3O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch. SILENT CONFESSION Let us prepare our hearts by privately confessing our sins to our loving Heavenly Father. Be honest before God, and bear your heart and soul to Him. Thank Him and Praise Him for the good things; and confess those sins you knowingly and unknowingly commit, even the sin of omitting the good that you ought to have done. (Silent Private Prayer) ASSURANCE OF PARDON (In Christ, our sins are covered!) Hear the good news of the forgiveness of your sins! 1 John 1:8-9 “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” PRAYER OF ADORATION AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The New City Catechism – Q&A #26 Q. What else does Christ’s death redeem? Christ’s death is the beginning of the redemption and renewal of every part of fallen creation, as he powerfully directs all things for his own glory and creation’s good. Colossians 1:19–20 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
