Good Friday
(William Lane Craig) “It is highly improbable that they would have invented one who did the right thing by giving Jesus an honorable burial—especially while all of Jesus’ disciples deserted him! Besides, they wouldn’t make up a specific member of a specific group, whom people could check out for themselves and ask about this. So Joseph is undoubtedly a historical figure.” (Erwin Lutzer) Jesus Christ alone is qualified to guide us into the vast unknown. Since he is the only one who has returned from the grave, he tells us accurately about life after death.

Presider: Sijin Yang Preacher: P. Jim Jung CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 22:19-26 19But you, O Lord, do not be far off! O you my help, come quickly to my aid! 20 Deliver my soul from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dog! 21 Save me from the mouth of the lion! You have rescued me from the horns of the wild oxen! 22 I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will praise you: 23 You who fear the Lord, praise him! All you offspring of Jacob, glorify him, and stand in awe of him, all you offspring of Israel! 24 For he has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, and he has not hidden his face from him, but has heard, when he cried to him. 25 From you comes my praise in the great congregation; my vows I will perform before those who fear him. 26The afflicted shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek him shall praise the Lord! May your hearts live forever! SILENT CONFESSION Let us prepare our hearts by privately confessing our sins to our loving Heavenly Father. Be honest before God, and bear your heart and soul to Him. Thank Him and Praise Him for the good things; and confess those sins you knowingly and unknowingly commit, even the sin of omitting the good that you ought to have done. (Silent Private Prayer) ASSURANCE OF PARDON (In Christ, our sins are covered!) Hear the good news of the forgiveness of your sins! Micah 7:18-19“ “18Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love. 19He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities underfoot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.” PRAYER OF ADORATION (Josh) SONGS OF PRAISE O Praise the Name In Christ Alone OFFERING All I Have is Christ To help you think about your level of giving, here is the financial snapshot of HCC for this month: Last week’s Giving: $6,404.00 Total Giving for April: $10,170.66 Monthly Budget: $21,000 Sydney Space: $48,870.14 GENERAL TITHES & OFFERINGS vs. SYDNEY SPACE OFFERING These are two separate HCC accounts (BSB: 082 057).
