(C. S. Lewis) “Good and evil both increase at compound interest. That is why the little decisions you and I make every day are of such infinite importance. The smallest good act today is the capture of a strategic point from which, a few months later, you may be able to go on to victories you never dreamed of. An apparently trivial indulgence in lust or anger today is the loss of a ridge or railway line or bridgehead from which the enemy may launch an attack otherwise impossible.” (Charles Swindoll) “Honesty has a beautiful and refreshing simplicity about it. No ulterior motives. No hidden meanings. An absence of hypocrisy, duplicity, political games, and verbal superficiality. As honesty and real integrity characterizes our lives, there will be no need to manipulate others.” (Aristotle) “Anybody can become angry — that is easy; but to be angry with the right person, and to the right degree, and at the right time, and for the right purpose, and in the right way — that is not within everybody’s power and is not easy.”

Presider: Sijin Yang Preacher: P. Jim Jung CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 119:65-72, Teth 65You have dealt well with your servant, OLord, according to your word. 66Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments. 67Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word. 68You are good and do good; teach me your statutes. 69The insolent smear me with lies, but with my whole heart I keep your precepts; 70their heart is unfeeling like fat, but I delight in your law. 71It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes. 72The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces. SILENT CONFESSION Let us prepare our hearts by privately confessing our sins to our loving Heavenly Father. Be honest before God, and bear your heart and soul to Him. Thank Him and Praise Him for the good things; and confess those sins you knowingly and unknowingly commit, even the sin of omitting the good that you ought to have done. (Silent Private Prayer) ASSURANCE OF PARDON (In Christ, our sins are covered!) Hear the good news! Isaiah 53:5 “5But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” PRAYER OF ADORATION AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Heidelberg Catechism – Lord’s Day #40 – THE LAW OF GOD 108. What does the seventh Commandment teach us? That all unchastity is accursed of God,[1] and that we should therefore loathe it with our whole heart,[2] and live chastely and modestly,[3] whether in holy wedlock or single life.[4] [1]Lev. 18:27-28. [2]Jude 1:22-23. [3]I Thess. 4:3-5. [4]Heb. 13:4; I Cor. 7:1-4. 109. Does God forbid nothing more in this Commandment than adultery and such gross sins? Since both our body and soul are temples of the Holy Ghost, it is His will that we keep both pure and holy; therefore, He forbids all unchaste actions, gestures, words,[1] thoughts, desires,[2] and whatever may entice thereto.[3] [1]Eph. 5:3-4; I Cor. 6:18-20. [2]Mt. 5:27-30. [3]Eph. 5:18-19; I Cor. 15:33.
