Examining the achievement gap through the prism of race, this comprehensive text and protocol explains the need for candid, courageous conversations about race so that educators may understand why performance inequity persists, and learn how they can develop a curriculum that promotes true academic achievement.
Participants will learn the Courageous Conversations About Race Protocol for engaging in difficult discussions that can promote positive outcomes while offering a safe model for emotionally charged conversations.
Join us for an in-depth conversation using the book as a backdrop of engaging in personal reflection, exploring how to be proactive in fighting for equity and social justice within our schools and communities, and deepening our understanding through storytelling and counter-narratives.
A complimentary copy of the book will be provided by CESA 11 and mailed to participants.
