Each Company’s Unique Data is its Competitive Advantage.
But when 85% of data transformation projects fail, how can they develop a successful strategy that makes the most of this advantage? Many companies fail to implement data strategies because they have struggled to integrate the cloud into business layouts. They end up with data in silos as small cloud apps with limited capabilities are implemented quickly without an overall data plan. The payroll app can’t talk to the billing app or the CRM and each has different sign-ins. And even when a data strategy does get started, there is still a skills gap as people with Cloud, IoT and AI training and experience are hard to find. Long term support of the system looms over everything.

End-to-end analytics at your doorstep
Ability to scale quickly
Honeycomb is a comprehensive solution designed to centralize a client’s data into a usable and proven platform, providing analytics at your doorstep. Honeycomb was designed specifically to decrease the time to value for clients who are more concerned with consumable data, than with platforms and integrations.
Modernization relies on a data-first strategy for business planning.
Fully managed, centralized data lake
Our solutions aren’t isolated to specific industries, because data is data. Honeycomb has been implemented in manufacturing, healthcare, consulting, and insurance industries. It can be used across different business processes and departments including HR systems, finance, inventory control, and process automation.

Built-in Strength

Weeks 6 & 7
In the first week, you will be assigned a Product Owner (PO) who will become your primary point of contact for Honeycomb. It is their desire to learn about your business strategy, the data within your organization, and direct the team on delivery of insights that provide business value. As the PO establishes kickoff meetings and learning sessions, the team behind the scenes will stand up your honeycomb instance. We also identify the initial use case for analytics that will match the 8-week start up plan.
Weeks 2 & 3
The team will complete the implementation of the insights, with its evaluation into production, providing the access to the objects to the business. They will also document the knowledge management activities.
8-week Startup Plan
Following our approach to delivery, the team will execute parallel paths for engineering and insights. Engineering will be focused on the design on data acquisition frameworks, applying Honeycomb’s engineering practices, with the goal of getting data to a trusted state. At the same time, the Product Owner is working with you to design the delivery of insights. At the end of this sprint, both engineering and insights will have completed Uncover, Envision, and Design for the initial use case.
Honeycomb was designed to accelerate and manage analytics for clients. It is built to promote organic growth by following our agile approach. In 8 weeks, or less, we can help your organization start its data driven journey.
Week 1
The engineering team starts the implementation of the data frameworks as the insights team defines the business rules that will be applied in the refinement of the data objects. These refined objects will be used to service data to Power BI. The Product Owner will continue to build out the analytic backlog of future use cases, even starting Uncover, Envision and Design on those work items.
Weeks 4 & 5
Engineering and Insights come together will the development of the refined objects which correlate data based upon the outputs of the previous sprint. Insights starts the development of the analytic models and the presentation layers of the use case. This work will end with the demo to the stake holders. As the delivery of the insight is nearing completion, Engineering will swing back into Uncover, Envision, and Design for the next use case.
Week 8
Today’s health systems gain a competitive edge through their data. The analytics that can result from this data have significant potential to drive and improve value-based care for patients, the use of assets, the utilization of resources, and ultimately, effect revenue. Though health systems already have all this data at-hand, the process of figuring out just what it says isn’t so simple. Info is siloed across multiple programs and offices. Then there’s the security risk of a cloud integration, and the high-demand nature of the healthcare environment itself, where there is never enough time or resources. But at the same time, digital transformation in healthcare represents the potential to better serve the most at-risk patients, reduce errors, and make everyone’s life easier. Honeycomb centralizes all of a health system’s data into one proven platform that brings actionable analytics to the doorstep. The Vice President of Analytics at Community Health, Amy Heleine, spoke to this benefit when asked about how Honeycomb is making a difference for her team: “In the past, our analytics team would receive a request and just answer that request,” Heleine said. “Now, Honeycomb empowers us to consider the goal of the end user making this request. Clinicians don’t always know what to ask, or what data is available to help them make more informed decisions. Now we can go aboveand beyond answering their questions.” When COVID-19 hit the US, Community Health needed to provide caregivers with more predictive modeling, like how much Personal Protective Equipment or how many ventilators would be needed in the future. Through Honeycomb, custom, real-time dashboards were created quickly. “It’s given us organization in answering requests,” said Heleine.
Success Profiles: Different Industries, Different Challenges, One Platform to Make Data Work Harder.
Honeycomb for Healthcare
Modern manufacturing is about more than assembly lines or even a finished product. Companies are focusing on becoming more efficient in every aspect of production. More than any other approach, data, and the analytics used to understand it, is the way forward. In general, data analytics help manufacturers go from making predictions about their performance to actually being prescriptive and being able to make changes on the fly that accurately represent the needs of their staff, stakeholders, and customers. It’s all about getting from a simple display of data to being able to leverage that data. That kind of power helps to reduce costs and increase efficiencies in the supply change. In order to do this, however, companies need a way to link and centralize all their data in one location. This is exactly why we created Honeycomb. With our big data lake technology, manufacturing companies are able to harness the competitive edge of these insights to make their business more streamlined and focused on forward progress. Product manager Stephanie Costello of SMC Corporation spoke to us about how they are using the Honeycomb solution in their own, personal way. “We’re a global pneumatics manufacturer. We have many, very large transactions, and those come in from a lot of places, like a marketing website, our company website, and our engineering team. All of those need to be included in a big lake data solution.” Honeycomb uses simple dashboards that provide control over data exploration, and the ability to generate new visualizations that fit your manufacturing and logistics strategies. Even if you’re using third-parties for things like shipping or order fulfillment, those teams can also greatly benefit from the data exploration and visualization capabilities. “We have four different levels of distributors with different pricing structures. They all have their own part number compared to ours. So, customers want to see the cross reference between our part number and theirs, so it’s all clear. They want to see the discounts they get, and how it differentiates for things like volume. Honeycomb is helping us provide accurate pricing in these different formats.” This is exactly what Honeycomb can do for your manufacturing company. When these data sources are filtered into one location, your business team can do more with the information. Suddenly, you’re not just storing data; you’re harnessing power by illustrating correlations, cross-referencing information, and generally getting a clearer picture of exactly what is working right at your manufacturing company.
Honeycomb for Manufacturing
In future releases, Honeycomb will support NoSQL interface, Hadoop/Spark processing, stream analytics and other new capabilities as they are tested and proven for production workloads. Everything released by cloud providers is not ready for enterprise workloads. Moser, through its Honeycomb platform, takes on the responsibility of ensuring capabilities released to our clients are production ready. We also ensure each client’s use case is applicable for the platform, pipelines, and chosen data technology.
