Child Care now costs about $105-125 per day….WOW ! It is expensive. That’s about $550 or more per week per child. No wonder so many families struggle financially ! What if…... when they come to St Aidan’s, your child’s education was charged at the same rate? HOW MUCH WOULD IT COST? If each of our class teachers has say 30 students at say the same cost of $105-$125 per day….. That’s 30 x approx $110= $3,300 per day per class if we had the same rate….. That is $16,500 per week per class. We have 14 classes at St Aidan’s……. so 14 x $3,300= $231,000 coming into the school in fees each week!!! Per term, at the same rate: $231,000 x 10 weeks= $2,310,000 and for the year, it would be NINE and a QUARTER MILLION $$$$$. Of course, school fees are nothing like the Child Care rates mentioned above…. Luckily….. But think about the quality of education your child is receiving here at St Aidan’s at a hugely reduced rate !!

STAGE 2 EXCURSION TO BOTANY
Farmers in Queensland and Northern NSW need our help to keep their cattle, sheep and horses alive through one of the worst droughts in living history. Year 5 will be collecting money from the Return and Earn recycling stations to donate to the Buy a Bale rural aid initiative. This money will be used to buy hay to feed the animals, helping them survive this terrible drought. Our goal is to raise $9500 so we can buy 95 bales of hay to fill a whole semi-trailer. Every day at recess and lunch, containers will be collected by the Year 5 students. We also ask for the students to bring containers from home that aren’t crushed to help us achieve our goal. You can donate your glass, plastic, aluminium, steel and liquid cardboard containers. These include many items such as cans, drink bottles and poppers but unfortunately not milk bottles and juice containers over 1L. Hopefully we can work together as a community to support all the farmers in Queensland and Northern NSW. Good luck and start collecting!
