6 Feet Apart
Will I have to take my child’s temperature daily? Yes, parents will have to conduct a health screening PRIOR to their child coming to school every day. Students with temperatures that exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit should stay home and parents should monitor them for additional symptoms. Preschool students will have staff collect their temperatures during drop off in the car before admitting to class.
Do students have to wear masks? Masks will be required for all people on the FHEVS campus. Exemptions will only be considered via doctor's orders. Parents are expected to provide a face covering (i.e. mask or shield) for your student(s) to wear for instruction. All students in grades K-12 will be required to wear a mask on campus and in school. Students that are working independently, and are socially distant, will be permitted to work without a mask as determined by FHEVS staff. Mask breaks will be permitted.
Require face coverings
Please maintain social distancing -- stay at least 6 feet from others.
How will the building be cleaned? The school district has purchased four electromagnetic sprayers which will be used to disinfect buildings. In addition, we will have frequent cleaning continuing throughout the day in restrooms, classrooms, and other common areas. Hand sanitize stations are in every classroom and hand-washing will be frequent. FHEVS uses of EPA registered COVID-19 disinfectants for cleaning purposes. Vital Oxide RTU is the disinfectant that is used in the sprayers. Use this LINK to review the safety data sheet for Vital Oxide RTU. Zenatize Country Disinfectant is another disinfectant used throughout the schools. Use this LINK to review the safety data sheet for Zenatize Country Disinfectant. Aerosol spray will not be used in the classroom with students present. FHEVS will use EPA registered COVID-19 disinfectants for cleaning purposes. They can be found HERE
If you have the following symptoms or any new symptoms that may be identified Please stay at home -- do not come to school
What type of notifications will be sent to parents if other students or families have positive test results? If an individual who has been in a school is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19, the school must notify its local health department, in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, including confidentiality requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). The school will follow local and state health department and CDC guidance in that case. Schools must close off areas that are heavily used by the individual with the lab-confirmed case (student, teacher, or staff) until the non-porous surfaces in those areas can be disinfected unless more than 3 days have already passed since that person was on campus. Consistent with school notification requirements for other communicable diseases, and consistent with legal confidentiality requirements, schools must notify all teachers, staff, and families of all students in a school if a lab-confirmed COVID-19 case is identified among students, teachers or staff who participate in any on-campus activities. FHEVS will monitor absenteeism, cluster of cases and address flare ups. It is recommended that the student’s family, caregivers, and staff members notify the school if they have been placed in isolation or quarantine.
Prevent the spread of COVID-19
What happens if my child becomes sick at school? The nurse/health aide will isolate students showing symptoms to a separate area away from other students already in the clinic. (Area to be determined) Students who exhibit symptoms or have a fever above 100*F will be quarantined in a separate area (the area to be determined) with a mask to reduce the transmission of any potential illness. Parents or caregivers will be expected to pick up their ill child within 30 minutes of notification from the clinic. The nurse/health aide will work with custodial staff to ensure the clinic (and isolation area) is disinfected immediately following a student entering who is exhibiting symptoms. An isolation area will be provided in both buildings.
Hybrid Schedule- Students safely learn in school and away from school. In the event strict social distancing protocols are put in place for our schools, instruction can be broken up into A/B groups that meet virtually three days a week and in-person two days a week.
