Why to visit your advisor early
spring 2019 Academic Calendar
At the Student Success Center, our mission is to serve all freshmen and sophomores earning degrees in the fields of Agriculture and Human Ecology as they transition from high school to college over their first two years. We empower students to develop the skills necessary to be leaders within their fields and take responsibility for their education so they are able to succeed inside and outside of the classroom!
To fulfill this mission, the Student Success Center is here to serve you through…
Major exploration to help meet your personal interests and career goals
Individual course planning and degree mapping
Academic advising and assistance with course registration
Access to university resources and academic support opportunities
We are so happy that you are here at Tennessee Tech! Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of assistance. Have a great spring semester!

Why to Visit your Advisor Early
The Student Success Center will begin to contact students 6 weeks prior to registration to schedule an advising appointment for the upcoming semester. Here are a few reasons why you should schedule an advising appointment as early as possible:
1. To become familiar with your degree requirements and begin to formulate a plan early.
2. To receive information about any holds on your account that prevent registration as well as information on how to get them removed.
3. To register right when your registration time opens to have a wider selection of course offerings to choose from. You do not want to have to wait to get advised once students are registering and classes start filling up.
Taking courses over the summer??
Taking summer classes is a great way to catch up on courses you may need or put a little more focus into a specific subject. Students may take classes over the summer at Tennessee Tech, another 4 year university, or their local community college. If students wish to take classes over summer at TTU, they will have the option to register for summer classes when fall 2019 registration opens. If students wish to instead take courses at home, be sure to have your transcript sent to the Registrar's Office upon completing your summer classes so your credit appears on your Tennessee Tech transcript.
