We will be partnering with the Liberty Science Center from New Jersey to bring live, virtual science sessions to teachers and students. These sessions will be provided through secure Zoom video conferencing. There will be a Spanish interpreter co-hosting each session to support any Spanish language needs for students.
Maple Seed Models (October 20, 12:00-1:00 pm) Grades K-2
Create your very own maple seed model out of paper and explore how the maple seed has a special way of getting the space it needs to grow and survive.
Materials: Scissors, paper, (Optional: paper clip or binder clip)
Science of Flight & Aviation (October 20, 1:00 - 2:00 pm) Grades 3-5
Learn about the concepts of flight and aviation and apply this knowledge through hands-on experiences like using flight experiments to design your own paper airplane.
Materials: Two sheets of paper, pen or pencil (Optional: printable worksheet)
Forensic Science: Gotham Detective (October 21, 12:00 - 1:00 pm) Grades 6-8
Conduct an investigation and analyze evidence to build a case against one of the city’s notorious criminal masterminds before it’s too late.
Materials: Online materials will be shared via Google Classroom
Digital Art Studio (October 21, 1:00 - 2:00 pm) Grades 9-12
Explore color theory, lighting, and animation to create digital art or animation. This intuitive STEAM toolset is limited only by your imagination.
Materials: Every student needs their own device.
