It's an honour to be back at the helm of Sydney Game Fishing Club and while we could be heading into rough waters I look forward to the challenge of securing our clubs future. The committee has been working on all angles to help protect your club. Committee member Ben Still is currently working on architectural heritage and since ben's dad was the architect who designed the current building, I think we are in good hands. We have also been in talks with the new local member Kelly Slonne who was quite interested to hear our concerns. Since the change of state Government it has gone quiet on anything to do with the plans for the wharf, but we do know that they have to improve the wheel chair access and prams for the ferries on the wharf. We have submitted to transport a drawing where we can co exist, so now its a matter of pushing this new proposal. Inside the magazine there is a page that can be torn out (or photocopied) for all members to get your friends and families to sign, we need as many signatures as we can get and every one counts. On the fishing scene we just had our Peter Goadby Memorial Tournament which was won by Little Audrey. Vicki Webster & crew tagged 3 marlin to take out the honours. Interestingly they lost 2 marlin early on day 1, this would of given them a total of five marlin, which would have earned them another $5,000 in prize money. I know Phil would be extremely proud of his big sister. Central Zone - Congratulations to all boats who fished during this season of central zone tournaments. Sydney has just about won all categories in Central zone, a full report of central zone can be found inside but there is nothing better than winning Champion Club Capture and Tag & Release. We will proudly display these trophies in our club house for all to see! A special mention goes to boat Greyhound which is only 17ft in length. Owner Gianni has won Champion boat tag & release. Gianni and his crew have fished extremely hard this year and fully deserve their victory! Well done boys. Tight Lines Glenn Wright HLM

Receiving Essential supplies for the Tournament

They have also installed Satellite TV for added pleasure, replaced the carpet and upholstery and as always with any boat, replaced a million little odds and ends as they rust, corrode and break in the elements and salt water. She is also fairly economical boat with an average fuel burn for the day of approx. 220 litres including a quick punch in and out and a long day of trolling around lots of bright, colourful shiny things tied to the end of a long piece of string. If you see them, make sure you say "Hi!".
Andrew says: "This is the first year of serious fishing. If we can do it, anyone can". Andrew and his wife and first mate Eva (or maybe the real boss here) are a pair to watch out for. Happy Days was purchased in 2016 from one of our great SGFC sponsors "Sylvania Marina" and that's where she lives to this day. She is also kitted out by products from another long time sponsor "Furuno". She includes a Furuno 295 and Furuno TZ2 and a 3D module. (Furuno are considered by many to be the best in the business and are used on many SGFC Blue water club boats). Inside the boat, the galley includes all the usual cooktop, microwave and Cappuccino machine but it's the outdoor BBQ where skipper Andrew gets to test out his culinary skills on his wife and friends.
Owners Andrew and Eva Lewis can often be found enjoying the boating life in many of Sydney's quiet bays. Typically enjoying extended weekends with a glass of wine and some great seafood in their comfy weekender "Happy Days". Weekends, Wine & Seafood have been a staple of their time with the boat. This year however, they decided to change it up a bit, lock down the hatches, tie down the Cappuccino machine and have a serious crack at Central Zone and Point Score days and their efforts show. They are up around the top of the leader board and have been taking home heaps in the prizes category at many of the local tournaments. Happy Days, a 35ft Caribbean Flybridge Cruiser has gone into hard core fishing mode this year.

Health Fund Advice A wealthy hospital benefactor was being shown around the hospital. During her tour she passed a room where a male patient was masturbating furiously. 'Oh my GOD!' screamed the woman. 'That's disgraceful! Why is he doing that?' The doctor who was leading the tour calmly explained, 'I'm very sorry that you were exposed to that, but this man has a serious condition where his testicles rapidly fill with semen, and if he doesn't do that at least five times a day, he'll be in extreme pain and his testicles could easily rupture.' Oh, well in that case, I guess it's okay,' said the woman. As they passed by the very next room, they saw a male patient laying in bed while a nurse performed oral sex on him. Again, the woman screamed, 'Oh my GOD! How can THAT be justified? Again the doctor spoke very calmly: 'Same illness, better health plan'. I can imagine Ray or Dino doing this!!! Passing the Time Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting. Well, for example, the other day my wife and I went into town and went into a shop. We were only in there for about 5 minutes. When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. We went up to him and said, 'Come on man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?' He ignored us and continued writing the ticket. I called him a Nazi turd. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tyres. So my wife called him a ####-head. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote. Personally, we didn't care. We came into town by bus. We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired. It's important at our age.
