The first step towards making change happen is to try to understand how people feel. OBSERVE Observe closely physical, social, and emotional (relationships, feelings) aspects. WONDER What is the change, impact you want to achieve. What are your AIMS? REFLECT How you/others feel in about the issue When finishing or during the process, what things did we learn about the issue/ action/ campaign?
During the process you have to make and organise some proposals to cope with the issue. BRAINSTORM Explore ideas for creating the quickest impact, maximum people impacted and long lasting change. Encourage a variety of ideas, don't shy away from wild ones. Build on the ideas of others , use the word 'and' instead of 'but'. ANALYSE Values how SMART are the proposed idea(s) Specific - Measurable - Achievable - Realistic - Time-related REACH CONSENSUS Share and discuss your ideas to improve the best SMART idea(s) to “be the change” PLAN What resources will be required? How will we get it? How much time will it take? Where?
The last step is to put in practice what you planned. IMPLEMENT Go out and put your plan in action! MONITOR Progress, check and change the planning if necessary. COMMUNICATE Your story of what and how you have “became the change"
