High School Student Drivers Permit Requests
Drivers under the age of 18 are required to show proof of school attendance per NRS.483.2521. All Nevada students will be required to submit a DMV-301, the Department of Motor Vehicles Certificate of Attendance form, to the local DMV office when applying for either an instructional permit or a driver's license. Students who fail to meet the attendance standards outlined above will be unable to secure the school official's signature required on the DMV-301 to apply for an instruction permit or driver’s license. The Registration office will be the one to verify this information.
Please send an email request to our Registrar by emailing SloanInfo@pinecrestnv.org. Make sure to include your students first & last name, date of birth, and parent first & last name requesting the DMV-301 form – we will complete the form in full. Please allow 2-3 full school days for this request to be processed – requests for same day or next day are not guaranteed. You will be contacted by email when the DMV-301 document is ready for pick up at our front office.
Thank you for your understanding.

The Kids Heart Challenge is off and running!
Together with the American Heart Association, we’re helping create a nation of healthier kids. 9 in 10 U.S. kids have a poor diet, and more than half don't get enough physical activity to be healthy.
Thank you for helping us make a difference raising money for the Kids Heart Challenge. Your generosity will help fund lifesaving research and education. We really appreciate you! Here's how to get started:
Set up your personal fundraising page:
Go to www.heart.org/kidsheartchallenge and search for our school.
Once you find our school, click on “Sign Up.”
Create a username and password. Fill out the registration form. Then set a fundraising goal. We suggest $250.
Share the link to your personal fundraising page with friends and family right away.
After setting up your page, login to your fundraising headquarters.
Send 10 emails or ecards to your friends and family. You can start by making your very own donation. When you do, you’ll earn the first Heart Hero character.
Download the app to watch your Heart Heroes come to life. You can also do fundraising from your mobile device. Search Kids Heart Challenge in the Apple or Android store.
Thank you for supporting our school, our students, and the American Heart Association. You are truly a Heart Hero.

High School Athletics:
Our High School Girls Flag Football team began their season a few weeks ago. Thank you to Coach Barnes and best of luck to our Lady Pirates this season!
At this time Basketball is still categorized as not cleared to compete per mandates set forth by the Governor’s office. We look forward to a great season next year in a new gymnasium.
The remaining NIAA (High School) shortened seasons for Fall and Spring are still currently in place and would include Girls Volleyball, Cross Country, Soccer and Track & Field. At this time there has not been enough interest received to field a soccer team at the high school level. It is imperative that athletes complete the Register My Athlete process in order to have an accurate count for teams and to form rosters. A step by step guide to complete registration is available on the NIAA RMA for parents page: http://www.niaa.com/x/cxdts
Athletes are NOT allowed to practice or complete without a completed RMA.
Physicals have been extended and will be good for 2 years due to COVID restrictions. Documentation must be uploaded to the athletes RMA portal.
Fees will not be charged until there is clarification and confirmation that a season will take place for a program. Please get your registration done as soon as possible so there are not delays in your athletes’ ability to participate.
Middle School Update:
The latest from NCSAA was that winter season sports for middle school have been canceled. There are still plans to hold limited sports in the spring which would include Soccer, Track and Cross Country. If your middle school athlete is interested in participating in one of these please complete the interest form below by 1/20/2021. This will allow us to determine interest and our ability to fill teams/rosters.
How to Report an Absence:
Pinecrest Sloan Canyon is implementing a new absence reporting system. The system follows new health and safety guidelines advised by the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) and the State Public Charter School Authority (SPCSA). If your child was absent from school, either physically or virtually, you must now report the circumstances of the absence to the school. To report the absence, you will need to go to the Pinecrest Sloan Canyon website,https://www.pinecrestsloancanyon.org/. On the home page of the website, under the Attendance tab you will click on the Student Absence Google Form. Please answer each of the sections completely. Make sure to submit when you are finished.
Thank you for your cooperation. We are committed to keeping the health of our students and staff members our number ONE priority!
If you need a pre-arranged absence please fill out the pre-arranged absence form (on our website under the attendance tab), not the Google Student Absence form. Thank you!
