Games Programme We have a highly competitive fixtures list. This includes the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties Youth League on a Thursday Evening which is our main academy team. We also play in the prestigious FA Youth Cup and have some Wednesday afternoons in the AoC competitions, providing plenty of midweek competitive football opportunities for all the players in our academy. We also have the senior adult teams at Little Oakley at the weekend that academy players could feature in. Player Progression Once players have completed their 2 years of education they have various pathways to consider; it may be that one option they decide on is to stay for a further year and study a qualification in Gym Instructing & Personal Training.

Tactical Performance Analysis A key tool to enhance this football experience is the tactical analysis we access to film matches which aid reflection on individual and team performance. We empower the players to use the time to work on individual player performance targets that are then set, developed and reviewed.
Education Provision Our education programme provides a popular alternative to a traditional college or 6th form while still opening up progression routes to employment as well as universities in this country and the U.S.A. We maintain high standards and compliance set by our education providers, thus ensuring the best possible education standards for our players. Football Coaching The high volume of training hours and fixtures aides rapid player development and ensures every player is challenged during their first two seasons with the Academy. The unique experience of spending time with your academy peers in an education setting and football environment has consistently seen players reach their potential.

What We Offer...
A Parent's Perspective
In 2019 our first cohort of players joined the Acorns Academy, our squad of 16 players began training and studying everyday under the guidance of our Academy Head, Mark Sharp. We began our partnership with the established AFC Sudbury Academy following their protocols and curriculum. This working relationship with AFC Sudbury really helps us manage and grow our Academy as staff from both sites work closely together towards the same aims of providing the best experience for our young players. August 2020 saw us welcome our new batch of 1st Year players who joined the original cohort to make a larger squad of Academy Players. We continued to make progress on the pitch as well as the classroom with the new first years settling in well and making a real impact.

Our Club
Our Journey So Far...
The LOFC Acorns Academy benefits from many other staff based at the club who work to enhance the Academy every day ranging from personal trainers to facilities management. There are numerous other part-time and voluntary staff that support the players on a regular basis.
As parents we wanted our son to continue his education in a supported, friendly and professional way and that has been our experience right from the first trial Robert attended, we were welcomed in, encouraged to ask questions and be a part of his education with regular updates on how he was doing. We also got to experience the results of their efforts by attending the regular football matches at the club, where all the parents can get together and support all the students, the facilities are great, allowing parents to have access to their teachers and coaches throughout the academic year. Robert is now looking to continuing his education at university and Little Oakley are supporting him in both educational and physical requirements for him to achieve his goals.

Name: Alfie Davidson The Little Oakley Academy has been excellent to me for the last two years. Off the pitch the club has fully supported me in my refereeing and coaching away from the club. In the classroom I have been pushed as far as I can academically striding towards the top grades. The resources and tutoring from Sharpy has been excellent. On the pitch, despite two seasons disrupted by the obvious, we have played matches against teams of different levels and ability, a great way for all players in the team to develop.

Name: Theo Sanderson This course at LOFC Academy has given me many opportunities and new experiences. Since joining, the club put me into both the mens reserves and the first team squad, training on Wednesday nights, playing on Saturdays and occasionally midweek. This experience has involved me playing at stadiums including Aveley and Coles Park. From playing in an average Sunday league team to making multiple appearances in a semi-professional adult team, I proved to myself how consistently training 3-5 times a week with 1-3 matches a week helped me progress to the next step in football. The Academy, since starting the 2nd year, has put me into a coaching team. Each Saturday morning I coach U7's. This has allowed me to learn how young people develop each week to become better players and also earned me a little extra money. Doing this Extended Diploma in sport has given me the opportunity to apply for universities around the UK.
Name: Liam Sanderson At Little Oakley Football College, I have had many opportunities to better my football knowledge both playing and coaching. When I first joined the Academy I had very little understanding of what I wanted to do. I soon had the chance to join into the youth set-up and have the chance to coach kids. From this I have put on sessions for many different age groups, specifically introducing football to the age group I now coach regularly being the Under 7s. I coach them on a Saturday morning and attend every game on a Sunday in order to help and guide them in their playing careers. In doing this I have had help from experienced coaches such as the Academy manager Mark Sharp. Mark has given me confidence and desire in my coaching and playing. I am a centre-back for the 2020/21 Academy team and find it very enjoyable playing at Little Oakley. The course that Little Oakley offers is a BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport which can give you a chance to go to University. This is the pathway I am looking to go down. In order to get this opportunity, all work at Little Oakley has to be completed to a good level, deadlines met and showing a desire to achieve. University endeavours to give me the opportunity to enter into the football coaching world and to broaden my job opportunities.
