Corporate Giving
The Y brings people of all ages together every day to enjoy exceptional programming and services that are available to all. Our major programs include our membership and program assistance, early childhood education, afterschool enrichment, youth overnight and day camp, sports and recreation, indoor and outdoor aquatics, water safety, swim lessons, and senior and adult programming. Some of our cause-driven services are food access for youth afterschool and in the summer, education programs promoting healthy habits and food choices for youth, camp scholarships for diverse populations, and environmental education that promote youth getting outdoors and experiencing all our great region has to offer. Whether your goal is to support a specific YMCA program or event, or develop an ongoing relationship with all or part of our membership, we can structure a giving strategy that satisfies your goals.

C.A.T.C.H. coordinated approach to child health
The Duluth Y’s Pop-up Outdoor Play program, which uses open-ended, minimally-structured materials such as child-friendly ladders, mats, and rollers to encourage creative, cooperative, and physically-active learning in play. Play is foundational to children’s healthy growth, development, and learning. A growing body of evidence supports the benefits of children playing outdoors, including improved academic success, social-emotional skills, physical development, problem solving and critical thinking, and overall mental well-being. With POP the Y is giving young children a new opportunity to build, climb, and balance outside in the fresh air and sunshine.

Afterschool Enrichment
When the school year ends, many kids struggle with basic needs like healthy food access and safe places to spend their days. YMCA summer programs and YMCA Day Camps provide life-changing enrichment and activities for youth.
The Twin Ports Miracle League removes the barriers that keep children with cognitive or physical disabilities off the baseball field and let them experience the joy of America’s favorite pastime. To reduce any financial barriers to participation, the YMCA subsidizes this program and offers additional scholarships to participants making the Miracle League a possibility FOR ALL in our community. Support Miracle League or its fundraiser event- the Home Run Derby!
WITH YOUR POP-UP OUTDOOR PLAY ADOPTION: $500 will provide 20 children with five 2 hour sessions of outdoor play with engaging materials. $1,000 will support pop-up outdoor play with ladders, mats, rollers, and giant cubes
Adopt-A-Program Support Opportunities
In our afterschool programs children learn and grow with professional role models who help them with their homework and encourage their social and emotial growth. YMCA afterschool programs improve student academic performance and help you gain skills necessary for their future success.
Lead by teens, grades 8-12, this program increases their awareness of social issues and solutions, helping them grow in confidence, and gain a dedication to the democratic process. With other students from around the state they participate in a mock government and national procedures. They also learn to embody the Y core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

MIRACLE LEAGUE
WITH YOUR SUMMER PROGRAMMING ADOPTION: $500 provides educational field trip and busing for 50 youth $1,000 provides youth scholarships to YMCA Day Camp $2,500 provides an entire summer of out-of-school time enrichment to youth in our community

Summer Camp & Programs
Physical activity, along with nutrition education, is key to combating childhood obesity and diabetes and promoting life-long health and wellness. Support of the Y's C.A.T.C.H. program will encourage active living and healthy food choices for youth within Y afterschool sites.

WITH A SWIM ACCESS ADOPTION:
The YMCA Scholarship and Financial Assistance program is the cornerstone of our mission. We believe that all people deserve access to quality health and wellness opportunities.
For some, even partial assistance is not enough. Open Doors is the Duluth Area Family YMCA's membership program for families experiencing homelessness.
WITH YOUR FOOD ACCESS & DISTRIBUTION ADOPTION: $500 will provide 150 healthy meals for youth $1,000 will fund 300 summer food backpacks $2,500 will provide 200 meal kits for families in need $5,000 will support regional growth and stability

YMCA Food Access and Distribution Support Opportunities
We demonstrate this commitment through our discounts to insurance benefit members and military and veteran membership support. In addition, we provide discounted memberships to local community organizations, non-profits, and group homes, and we offer membership assistance to all who come through our doors.
The YMCA believes every child should feel confident and safe around water. Therefore, we are proud to offer swim scholarships and complimentary swim lessons to individuals who qualify. Certified YMCA swim instructors and lifeguards teach our swim lessons and Safety-Around-Water courses in which children learn the basic water safety and swimming skills that reduce their risk of drowning while giving them confidence in and around water.
Our annual support campaign raises the critical funds needed to provide scholarships for those that face financial hardships that make membership dues or program fees a burden. These scholarships are open to all, and most receive between 20%-70% off their membership and program fees based on need. As a result, 1 in 3 Y members receive some level of financial assistance. Your gift to the Y will ensure that no one is turned away due to financial limitations.
WITH YOUR OPEN DOORS ADOPTION: $720 will give three families a free 3-month membership $1,000 will cover program fees for swim lessons and wellness classes like New Beginnings $3,360 will provide children in the program with access to summer programming $5,000 will sponsor the program for a full year and expand the program
Those in need of our assistance are referred to us by local agencies such as Safe Haven, ECFE, the Salvation Army, AICHO, Bethany Crisis Shelter, Chum, Loaves & Fishes, along with the County or school social workers. With an Open Doors Membership, families experiencing homelessness find a welcoming community in which they can connect, recreate, and feel hope. With a free, 3-month family membership, participants experience a sense of normalcy in their most challenging times. This critical program is funded solely through the Duluth Area Family YMCA's annual Community Support Campaign.
WITH YOUR GIFT IN SUPPORT OF YMCA SCHOLARSHIPS: $660 will provide youth, individuals, & active older adults with financial aid toward their memberships $1,500 will give two families with the greatest need a year of access $2,500 will provide 60% financial assistance to 50 families $5,000 will support access to health and wellness programming for our region

In our community 1 in 4 children are left hungry each day. Many youth face increased food insecurities, especially when school is out. With your help, the Duluth Area Family YMCA will serve over 59,000 meals and healthy snacks to youth and families in need throughout Duluth, with an average of 4,500 meals served during summer months.

Camp Miller Camp Scholarships are a needs-based subsidy and, while some campers receive full scholarships, many receive partial scholarships, so your gift will be divided between those in need and may support many more youth than listed here.

Kids need nature in their lives. Outdoor play allows a child to see, touch, hear, feel, and sometimes even taste nature. Summer camps help youth experience the magic and wonder of childhood, and gets them thinking about all the mysteries of the world they live in. The memories made at camp are limitless, like the thrill of building a fire with friends for the first time, or carefree afternoons spent swimming under the summer sun. Camp is not just a way to pass summer break, but a vital piece in forming who they will become. At camp, children grow, explore, and learn about themselves, other people, and the world around them, and they have fun throughout the entire process.
To adopt a cabin, donors make an annual commitment to the Camp Miller Community Support Campaign. Your annual pledge gets you a plaque on your cabin, the opportunity to share your story, and recognition for as long as you continue at that level of giving.
