TYPES OF FUNDRAISERS
The following pages list fundraising ideas according to their category. Whilst taking a look at the list please take into account the goals and needs you need met for your event. It is important to reflect upon your organization's capacity as well. During the pandemic it is very likely many clubs are looking to find social distanced types of events to meet current CDC guidelines. Please remember that whatever you choose, have fun! As important as it is to have a successful fundraiser, having fun is a key part of it's success. Things to keep in mind: What fundraisers are we proud of? What is the most popular fundraiser? What fundraiser can we do given our circumstances? What fundraiser best meets our needs? Do we have enough volunteers to run this fundraiser? Do we have the monetary resources to do this fundraiser?
As the COVID 19 pandemic continues, nonprofits began to look at alternative forms of fundraising. The following are three types of fundraising: IN PERSON- This includes events that are typically held in person, face to face. These are often popular due to the socialization aspect they provide. They also give an organization the opportunity to showcase themselves to their community in terms of the positive impact of the event. NOT IN PERSON - Social distanced events have gained popularity during the pandemic. These often involve the use of technology to reach members of the community. They allow organizations to reach people who would typically be unable to be physically present. SPONSORSHIP/GRANTS- Taking time to apply for grants allows nonprofits to gain great amounts of money. Both sponsorship and grants allow organizations to fund themselves by receiving greater amounts of donations at once.

Sponsorships and grants are great alternatives to fundraising events. They offer opportunities to receive monetary aid year-round. Sponsorships can take the form of monetary aid, supplying products, or providing services. Typically sponsors tend to receive perks for their donations, many of which may depend on their level of sponsorship. Many organizations may recognize levels of sponsorship through sponsorship packages, these packages may provide promotion of sponsors at events, shout outs, or shows of appreciation. Grants are a way for organizations to obtain specific amounts of aid at particular times. Grants are funds given by a variety of different entities. Those entities may request a variety of information from your organization. It is recommended to put together a committee to ease the process of applying for grants. It is important to seek grants from entities that have a mission aligned with yours. This will increase your opportunity to receive aid from them.
