First Baptist Church Pea Ridge
I know it’s not news to you, but FBC Pea Ridge is not a building or place. It’s the people that make up this family. Individuals and families, all with their personal stories and journeys of faith. Each with their life experiences, abilities, spiritual gifts and uniqueness. Together we make up His Church in this place. The Family of God in this place, through which God is at work.
It’s fun to watch and see how God works in and through His people. Through His sovereignty and grace, He redeems us from our broken lives and adopts us into His family. He choses and equips us to partner with Him in His Kingdom work. As God’s people respond to His Spirit and serve, God accomplishes His purposes and His Kingdom is advanced. You can see it all around us. It’s happening through our Praise Team and Band, as they do such an excellent job of leading us in worship on Sundays. It’s happening through Children’s Ministry and Student Ministry volunteers on Sunday and Wednesday, as our student’s lives are impacted by people who serve, allowing God to use them for His purposes. It happens through leaders, who are willing to step up and take responsibility throughout our church family. It happens again and again, and you’re part of that.
For God so loved the world
That he gave his only begotten Son
That whosoever believeth in him...
Should not perish but have everlasting life.
I could go on and on, but I know you see it too. God is at work in and through His people in this place. Lives and eternity are being impacted in and around Pea Ridge and in far away places like Thoman, Haiti. What’s your part of what God is up to in this place? How has, and how will God use you in this story He is writing? What is your part in what God is up to in His Family at FBC?
When I look back on my walk with God, when God has been at work and allowed me to be a little part of what He was up to, it usually scared me to say yes to Him. In the beginning of trusting God and saying yes to His invitation to serve Him in a specific capacity, I almost always have too many questions and fears. Too many questions that deal with what if and what about. But without fail, when I push those questions aside and just trust Him with the details, God works, and I’m again amazed.
So, I ask again. What’s your part in what God is up to in and through His family at FBC? How will you trust Him with the details? How will you step out and be stretched in your walk with God? See, I look forward to the rest of your story. I look forward to us sitting down one day and talking about what it feels like to trust God without all the answers. What it feels like to look back, and see that God used you and impacted a student’s life. What it feels like to see that God has again done what only God could do through people like you and me. Let’s keep trusting Him and allowing Him to work in and through us for His glory! He’s up to some fun stuff and He let’s us join Him. That’s awesome!
Together we make up His Church in this place.

We are already a month in to 2018 and it has been a great year so far! The Lord is continuing to work in the student ministry as we are ramping up for our Elevate Weekend coming up February 23–25! This weekend might be known as a Disciple Now to some of you. We will be bringing in a speaker and worship leader for the weekend. Daniel Stewart, the Student Pastor at FBC Fort Smith will be our speaker and Hunter Thompson, the pastor at Dallas Street Baptist Church in Fort Smith will be leading us in worship.
The cost for the weekend is $40 per student if registered up to the week before the event. Our weekend will not only include great worship and impactful messages, but we will be focusing on some fun as well! Squad Wars will be a standard event for the Student Ministry in the coming summer months. Elevate Weekend will be the start of something great and we cannot look forward to it any more than we already do! Sign-up ASAP and secure a spot!
