Action Magazine 2021
It all started with Take Action Apparel & Gear. With first-hand knowledge that bullying has become a serious epidemic in schools across the nation, Gabriel L. Silva wanted to help give kids like him a voice! "I was a victim of repeated bullying. I am small for my age and kids would make fun of me for my size. Eventually, the verbal turned physical. I know that not everyone is going to like me, and I am actually okay with that. But disliking and mistreating someone physically, verbally, or emotionally for basically being different and not taking the opportunity to get to know them for who they are, is not okay. I had an opportunity to travel to LA for pilot season, when I came home, I found out that three of my friends had had an even harder time than I did at school. I knew what they were feeling, but I was helpless to help them. I wanted to do something. So, we got together with a group of experts and some really cool designers to create Take Action Apparel & Gear." Fast forward through time, and as a result of Take Action Apparel & Gear, Action Magazine was born, giving a worldwide platform for both adults and kids in the industry, who are passionate about taking a stance against bullying, a place to share their stories. Effects on children that either are the bully or that are being bullied go well beyond the school day and sometimes last a lifetime. Students who are bullied sometimes resort to suicide and the bullies often find themselves incarcerated by the time that they are adults. "Action Magazine is a great way to showcase amazing talent within the industry, while at the same time, giving them an opportunity to let kids know that they are not alone and help them to feel empowered. I found my voice through acting/modeling and practicing Tae Kwon Do, I stopped focusing on the negative and was able to discover the positive in me. If we help just one by sharing our stories, then Action Magazine is doing what we have created it to do."

What are five things that you can't live without? Five things I can’t live without would be the beach, music, tacos, family and dogs. What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? The motto I would say that I live by or try to live by is Live for today not tomorrow although that doesn’t always happen, I try my best. What's your favorite color? My favorite color is green. What is your favorite movie? I am a huge fan of the movie The Sandlot. What is your favorite TV show? I don’t watch a lot of TV shows but if I were to have to pick one I would say it would be Yellowstone. Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? I no longer have any pets but I did have the greatest pup ever he was a Golden Retriever named Murphy. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? Cape San Blas Florida, it's Paradise. What is your favorite food? Favorite food would definitely have to be Mac and Cheese. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? I would want to have dinner with Nicholas Cage and I would want to ask him why he spent $150 million on a Dinosaur skull. What made you want to start singing? I’ve been playing music since I was eleven but what made me want to start singing was when I went to one of my first concerts hearing the crowd sing the song back was so inspiring to me. What is the most difficult thing about being a musician? I'd say the most difficult thing about being a musician is releasing new music. You want it to be perfect and you over think it as you’re creating it because you just want everyone to love the songs as much as you do. Where do you find inspiration for your music? I find inspiration from personal life lessons and stories and also from other peoples stories. What do you hope people take away from your music? I want people to take my songs and use them to get themselves through whatever they are going through in life whether it's just having fun or going through a rough time. What is a genre that you don't sing but have always wanted to try and why? I've always wanted to try pop music. I love the melodies and creation process behind the songs. In one word, how would you describe your sound? Real In addition to your music, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? Besides music I love architecture and home design. I’ve been in the home building world since I was 12-years- old and it's always been a second passion of mine. How would you describe your fashion style? I honestly have no idea how to describe my style. I just wake up and get dressed. I do know that Cowboy boots are key. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? Kevin Costner would probably be my favorite actor. I don’t really know why except for I just love the movies he is in. Who are some of your favorite musicians that you have worked with? I've not worked with many “big named†musicians but my favorite musicians I’ve worked with would definitely be my band mates and my producer. What advice would you give others that want to break into music? I would tell them to always be themselves, don't worry if you get told “NO†take it as motivation to work harder and always stay true to yourself and your music. That is what makes you unique. Who would be your dream collaboration and why? This is a hard question but I would say my all time dream collaboration would be Eric Church. He’s always been an inspiration in my music from the way he creates and writes music to the way he performs live. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? I don’t tell anyone but I low-key always wanted to be in a boyband. Have you ever been bullied? No I’ve never been bullied but I know people who have and I’ve always had a soft spot for victims of bullying. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? I would tell them to surround yourself with people who love you and understand you. Be brave and confident in yourself, don't let negative words from someone else get you down or make you think differently about yourself. Because at the end of the day their words don’t matter. Love yourself! If you could talk to your 15-year-old self, what would you tell him to remember about the person that he is and what would you tell him to strive for in the future? If I could go back in time and tell myself something it would be to focus more on your dreams don’t let people tell you that you are wrong for trying to achieve dreams and goals That sometimes seem unachievable.

What's the one thing you can't live without? Each other! Being a GLO-UP Girl is about inspiring our friends and fans to be the best versions of themselves. Glo-Up is about celebrating who you are now, and who you're becoming. It helps when you have a great group of supportive friends! What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? With a little #Glo-tivation, you can take on the world! Seriously... sometimes all it takes is an outfit change, a new hairstyle, or a cute pair of boots to help bring out your inner GLO, and give you that extra boost of confidence to go after your goals. When you show your GLO, you are unstoppable! What's your favorite color? Why just pick one? One of the best things about the GLO-UP Girls is our differences. We are each unique, and we love to play with different palettes to express ourselves. What is your favorite movie? Too hard to choose just one.. one day we hope to make our own GLO-UP Girls movie!! What is your favorite TV show? The GLO Show! What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? Our favorite spot is the GLO HOUSE in Temecula, California! We filmed the show at the amazing Vaquero resort - it even had a huge waterslide! What is your favorite food? The three food groups: Pizza, Tacos, Ice Cream. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? We all have incredible role models we'd love to meet. We especially admire women who have made a huge difference in the world. Oprah Winfrey, Kamala Harris and Sheryl Sandberg would probably top our list. What made you want to be in the entertainment industry? Being an influencer is just a great way to express yourself and show your individuality. Like the GLO-UP Girls dolls we represent, we're able to show our uniqueness and celebrate how we're growing as people. Of course it's also so much fun to go to parties and photo shoots, and meet new people. What is the one most difficult thing about being in the entertainment industry? You have to be prepared for negative comments. That's just part of being a public figure - and part of everyday life. Our advice is to focus on the positive, and fill your world with people who uplift you. Tell us about The Glo Show. We are SO excited for all our fans to see us in The GLO Show! The series follows the six of us as we live in the incredible GLO House where we get inspired by the GLO-UP Girls fashion doll line, and step up to different GLO-UP challenges every day. We do some crazy things... there's even an episode in a hot air balloon. You guys are going to love it! The show launches on July 17, on our new YouTube channel GLO-UP Girls TV! How similar are you all to your characters? We definitely have similarities... we even look a little like our dolls! We were partly selected for the project based on our similar personalities to the dolls... for example, Dai's doll Kenzie is a performer and very vocal; Makenna's doll Rose loves organic fashions and cares about the environment; and Rachel's doll Alex is sporty and tech savvy. We can't wait for the audience to see all the dolls! In addition to acting, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? All of us care a lot about bringing positivity to the world. Social media can and should be a place where friends and fans support each other, give back, and offer encouragement. We all do this in our own ways through our professional projects and personal lives, as well as on social media. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? Can't pick just one! How would you describe your fashion style? We each have a unique style... Sicily is the fashionista of our group and loves experimenting with high-end styles; Makenna is "casual chic"; Madi is super athletic and loves athleisure styles; Rachel is eclectic and always on-trend; Paige has the hottest new dance inspired fashions; and Dai's signature statement is often her blinged-out roller skates! Just like the GLO-UP Girls dolls we represent, our styles are diverse and we love that! What advice would you give other kids that want to break into the entertainment industry? Focus on what you love. Be true to yourself, and don't worry about how many followers you have on social media or how many auditions you're winning. #ShowYourGLO Who would be your dream on screen collaboration and why? We're living our dream! We're collaborating with each other and also with Far Out Toys to bring their GLO-UP Girls doll line to life globally. It's a dream come true. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? For some reason we all really love snacking on grapes. Green grapes to be exact. Won't do a shoot without them! Have you ever been bullied? Of course! We think everyone has likely been bullied at some point. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? Just remember to always celebrate who you are now, and who you are becoming. Have empathy for those who are angry and sad. Keep pumping positivity into the universe, and it will all work out. If you could talk to your 21-year-old self, what would you tell her to remember about the person that she is and what would you tell her to strive for in the future? GLO. All day, every day. A little glotivation is all you need to reach your dreams.

Entertainers
What are five things that you can't live without? Family, friends, my phone, cheer and popcorn. What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? You're never going to be happy being anyone other than yourself. What's your favorite color? Blue What is your favorite movie? Coraline What is your favorite TV show? Friends and Gossip Girl Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? I have a dog, Sadie Mae. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? Miami and Texas What is your favorite food? Salmon If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? Kendall Jenner because she is a fashion icon and entrepreneur. She is a model which I love. She seems to balance a lot of things and there's so much I could learn from her.
What made you want to start acting? I love performing and being in front of people. I also think it's a challenge to be someone you're not and it's fun to dig deep to play a role. What is the one role that you have had that you can identify with the most? Why? When I played a cheerleader because I am one, although I did have to cry. You are also an influencer and model. Who are some of your favorite brands that you have worked with? Rock Your Hair, Girls Rock Cosmetics, Brabar, Quest, Shein As an influencer and model, who are some brands that you'd like to work with? Celsius, Gucci, actually I love all fashion and makeup. In addition to everything else that you do, you are also an athlete. How did you get started in cheerleading? I kind of fell into it. I took a cheerleading class while I was in a tumbling class when I was 3. I then was invited to join the cheer performance and gymnastics performance teams. I had to make a choice and chose cheer because it incorporated tumbling and also dance which I loved. After a year of performance, they made all of the teams all star and the rest is history. Adding being an athlete to the mix takes a lot of time. How do you balance it all? We keep a very tight timeline. My cheer has set days and times and everything else we're able to work around it for now. I am currently doing online school which has definitely helped. Sometimes I have to say no or sacrifice some really fun things because I have something else, but I really love everything I'm doing so it's worth being really busy. In addition to acting, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? I love animals and finding charities that help animals. It's definitely important to help others. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? Jennifer Aniston because she is really funny and can play serious as well. She has great style and continues to inspire. How would you describe your fashion style? Street Style, although I like a lot of different types of styles. Who are some of your favorite actors that you have worked with? Tessa brookes, Brooke Butler, Hayden Summerall. What advice would you give other kids that want to break into the entertainment industry? Definitely make sure to perservere and just keep going even if you get rejections. Take a lot of photos and try to get out of your comfort zone. Take classes and constantly work your craft. Who would be your dream on screen collaboration and why? Chuck Bass because I love Gossip Girl and would love to work with him. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? I can do 22 handsprings in a row. Have you ever been bullied? Yes What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? I think its important to try to ignore it as best as possible if possible. I know that is so easy to say and so hard to do, but if possible, that's my number one advice. Try to find people who know you and can support you. Know that their words are only words, they are not truths. You know your truths. Reach out to a parent, teacher, friend, anyone and let them know what is going on. If possible, try not to engage with the person. Avoid the bully as best as possible. Make sure you have a friend or two or even a classmate with you so you're not alone. Try not to let the bully see how upset you are. They want to break you. If you can hold it in, just walk away. Try to write in a diary or notebook all of your feelings so you're not holding them in. If you could talk to your 21-year-old self, what would you tell her to remember about the person that she is and what would you tell her to strive for in the future? You are a confident, amazing person with a big heart. You are strong and can accomplish anything you desire. Strive to be successful in anything you are working toward, but make sure to be happy and don't overthink everything.
Alexis Rose is an influencer, athlete, model and actor. She's been tumbling since the age of one and cheering since she was three. Her very first modeling job was Hello Kitty and her first role was in Boss Cheer for Brat TV. She loves to dance for fun and create reels and TikToks. Alexis is a level 6 all star cheerleader for California All Stars. She loves being a role model to kids and showing that you can do anything you set your mind to. She hopes to spread love and kindness wherever she goes. Action Magazine had the extreme pleasure to catch up with this phenomenal entertainer to get to know her a bit better. Since I was around two-years-old, I would always be singing or humming songs like "Happy Birthday" and the Canadian national anthem "O Canada." I just naturally always have been singing and then around 9, I started taking lessons. What is the most difficult thing about being a musician? Sometimes it's dealing with the haters. Not everyone is going to like my singing, so just trying to ignore the negative stuff. You are also a songwriter, where do you find inspiration for your music? My family helps me out and sometimes I go off by myself and just start writing stuff down. What do you hope people take away from your music? I hope my music puts smiles on people's faces and makes them feel good about themselves. You have a new project, “It Ain't Over,†tell us about this project? The song was written during our lockdown in Covid. I noticed that there were so many negative comments and people complaining. I also noticed and heard that lots of people were down and out...so the song is about lifting each other up no matter how tough things get. In one word, how would you describe your sound? Tough question! I would say "bright." In addition to singing, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? Singing has given me a platform to help give back to my community. I have performed lots of fundraisers for several local charities to help out. It's a great feeling knowing that i can help out using my voice. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? Will Ferrell. He is hilarious. How would you describe your fashion style? Sporty, hoodie, t-shirt, shorts. Who are some of your favorite musicians that you have worked with? Justin J. Moore is a musician in Kelowna, Canada and kind of took me under his wing. He is an amazing musician. I have also opened for country singer Aaron Pritchett and he is super nice. What advice would you give other kids that want to break into music? Just go for it and be yourself. There will be people that are higher up in the industry but it doesn't matter...be yourself. Who would be your dream music collaboration and why? Shawn Mendes...a fellow Canadian and amazing musician. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? I am a really good baker. Have you ever been bullied? No, not really. Sometimes I would get teased but it didn't get out of hand. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? Talk to someone about it. It's so important to tell people.

Zach previously worked in Market and Distribution for 20th Century Fox and has since structured distribution deals throughout North and South America, Europe, and China. Action Magazine had the pleasure to get to know this amazing man a bit better. Take a peek at what he had to say in our version of Q&A. Make sure to follow him on Instagram if you are already not!
What are five things that you can't live without? Family, Purpose, Integrity, Inner Peace, and Mexican Food What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? Do unto others as you would have done unto you. What's your favorite color? Cobalt blue What is your favorite movie? Labyrinth What is your favorite TV show? Brooklyn Nine-Nine Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? I used to have all types of animals growing up, lizards, snakes, ferrets, German Shepherds, Teacup Poodles, but now I am a father of 4 children and that enough responsibility for now. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? Spain What is your favorite food? Fresh Catch Poké If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? Keanu Reeves, because everyone says he is the nicest guy and I love his philosophy on life and I would love to gain some tips from his experiences. You are a multi-talented individual in the industry. Tell us how it all got started. I was still in high school and one of my youth leaders suggested I come and work with him on the film productions he was working on. He suggested I put all my ADHD energy to good use. And so thanks to Mike, I got my start working on a lot of TV and movie sets. What has been your favorite project to direct? Why? It was actually a commercial I directed recently that I was able to bring together an array of people of different cultures and backgrounds that were all united in a common goal. It was magical to see everyone feel as equals and united. As a director, what has been your one professional "ah-ha" moment to date? Actually I learned it while watching Jim Cameron directing Avatar when I was holding his virtual camera. Jim is collaborative but he is a master of the craft because he knows what he wants and won’t stop until he gets that perfect shot. We may not always have the time to make every shot perfect because perfection is the enemy to done, but what I learned from Jim was to know what I want and stick to my principles and vision. When you look back on all of the grand scope of your work, what is the one thing that you want to have accomplished? Why? I don't want to just entertain I want to inspire people to be better people and I want to help bridge understanding and appreciation for everyones culture in the world. The current projects I am working on I feel are going to accomplish just that, End of an Empire and The Supernatural University. They showcase a range of cultures and represent a huge array of people from around the world. I can't wait to share more soon. In addition to all that you do, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? I have worked with many charities over the years but some causes that are I am most passionate about are water conservation, anti-bullying and adoption. I have adopted 2 myself. I believe every child deserves to be loved and a fair chance at life. I hope everyone builds there confidence shares their light wit the world. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? Denzel Washington because every one of his movies, I get drawn in and believe his role. He is so good It doesn't feel like he is acting. How would you describe your fashion style? When I am not attending an event or getting fancy pictures taken for an article like this, I wear a hat, a polo shirt, shorts and flip flops. It's probably because I spent 12 years in Hawaii. Who are some of your favorite actors that you have worked with? Courtney Cox - She was so nice to everyone on the crew. Some days we all sat around for hours waiting for the next shot late at night and we would just chat. Joe Mantegna and his wife were also there and just wonderful human beings. She even took pictures with me and Joe and Courtney and then she even mailed them to me a few weeks later. (this was back in the late 90's when we still had to develop film) Because of their kindness, it always stood out to me as a fantastic memory and I have always wanted to emulate that. What advice would you give other kids that want to break into the entertainment industry? Work hard, focus on your goals and be kind to everyone. Surround yourself with people who encourage you to be the best you. Take good advice and always take time to be helpful to others. Who would be your dream on screen collaboration and why? I would be amazing to work with Anya Taylor Joy. Because she is an incredible actress. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? I like watching old BBC shows at night to relax. Shows like Red Dwarf, Mr. Bean, Monty Python actually most of those old shows. Have you ever been bullied? Yes, and it felt like I was alone even when I was surrounded by tons of people. I decided then to not become like them. I vowed to stand up for anyone I saw getting bullied. And I made it a point to befriend anyone that was alone because I know how much it hurt. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? It's hard to see past those moments but I promise, I PROMISE it gets better. Do whatever it takes to avoid them. Find someone you trust and talk to them about it. If you could talk to your 15-year-old self, what would you tell him to remember about the person that he is and what would you tell him to strive for in the future? Spend a little less time playing video games and spend more time developing valuable skills, and read read read as many good books as you can. But most importantly I would grab him by the shoulders and tell him "you are valuable you are special and you are loved."

What are five things that you can't live without? Five things. that I can’t live without are my family, friends, my phone, music, mascara, and my dog! What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? My life’s motto is to always treat others the way you want to be treated! What's your favorite color? My favorite color is pink now, but it changes all the time. What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie is Pyscho, a classic! What is your favorite TV show? My favorite TV show is Criminal Minds. Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? I have a white Labrador mix named Malibu. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? So far, my favorite place that I’ve traveled to is Jamaica. I even made a video about it! Check I out here. What is your favorite food? My favorite food is pasta (with pink sauce!) If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? If I could have dinner with anyone in the world, I would have to go with Matthew Gray Gubler, because he is such a great actor and seems like a funny guy to be around! What made you want to start acting? When I was eight-years-old, I started musical theater and knew, almost immediately, how much I loved acting. I got an agent, but found myself not booking any roles due to my curvy figure at a young age! At 13, I decided to take matters into my own hands and began posting videos on the Internet! I really grew a passion for creating my own ideas & characters and loved the process of putting it all together for the world to see. Years later, I’m still posting videos online and I’m so grateful to see that the entertainment industry has become more inclusive. I’m so excited to see what the future holds. What is the most difficult thing about being an actor? The most difficult, and my least favorite, part of acting is missing out on roles you audition for. Although, I am a true believer that rejection is just a redirection for something even better! How do you prepare for auditions? The best way to prep for an audition is to really understand the story and/or the background of your character. You are also a content creator. Tell us how you got started doing this. When I was 13, I was interested in creating YouTube videos. I liked the idea of acting as my own characters and showing my personality online. I started making videos for fun and just loved the process. What is the one thing about being content creator that you find enjoyable? My favorite part of being a content creator is getting comments about how I made someone happy, changed their day around or just helped them in some way. In addition to acting, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? I am passionate about treating people with kindness. I think that being kind goes such a long way! Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? Viola Davis is such a strong actress and does an incredible job in any role that she plays. How would you describe your fashion style? My fashion style is comfy, casual, and cute What advice would you give other kids that want to break into the entertainment industry? My advice to other kids who want to break into the entertainment industry is to learn how to focus on your own journey. There are so many kids striving for the same thing, that worrying about what other people are doing just isn’t healthy! Focus on yourself, work on your craft, and do what you can to achieve your dreams. Who would be your dream on screen collaboration and why? A dream for me would be to act alongside Kirsten Vangsness. I instantly loved the character she played on Criminal Minds where she was able to show quirkiness and really added a lot of color to her character. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? Well, if I told you then everybody would know! Have you ever been bullied? I think bullying comes in a lot of different ways. I have dealt with lots of friend drama issues throughout my life, but I learned a lot along the way. Here’s a video I made about how to deal with friend drama. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? The best advice I could give is to talk to someone you trust about what’s going on. They can hopefully help guide you in the right direction. If you could talk to your younger self, what advice would you give her? If I could talk to my younger self, I would tell her that all the drama she is going through won’t matter in the future. Focus on yourself and know that everything happens for a reason!

What is your favorite food? My favorite food is Barbeque Flatbread Chicken Pizza. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? Gordan Ramsey because I heard he was an excellent chef. I think it will be fun to cook with him too. What made you want to start acting? When I was in elementary school, I had a lot of fun performing on stage in various plays. After landing my 1st speaking role in 2017, that really motivated me to pursue acting full time. Being able to verbally display my talent on camera unlocked a new passion. In addition to acting, you are also a screen writer. Tell us how you got started? This motivated me write I’m Ready to promote open communication and honesty between teens and their parents. In addition to your impressive resume, you are also a children's book author. Can you tell us about your book? I am the author of "Back Pack Lilly". "Back Pack Lilly" is a children's book that teaches kids the importance of prioritizing their school work over their playtime. I use my own, or friends, experiences for inspiration for my projects. Sometimes, I use issues I notice in my community/life to address in my own projects. You are actually in the process of writing/acting/directing in an upcoming project. Can you tell us about it? I am currently assistant directing, co-producing, and acting in Old School Rollers. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? My favorite actresses are Taraji P. Henson, Sarah Paulson, and Viola Davis. These women are extremely talented actresses. They jump into their characters and make the character unique to them. Watching them act on screen motivates me to grow as an actress. How would you describe your fashion style? I would describe my fashion style as chill, cute, and laid back. During my off time, you can catch me lounging in sweatpants or graphic t-shirts. Who are some of your favorite actors that you have worked with? I had a lot of fun filming with Brittany Carmichael & Janiya Williams in I’m Ready. A few other actors I’ve enjoyed filming within Law and Order were Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T, and Christopher Meloni. They were all very friendly. Watching my mom take a selfie with Ice-T also made me smile. What advice would you give other kids that want to break into the entertainment industry? Anyone looking to break into the entertainment industry should get in contact with Shooting Future Stars (SFS). SFS have launched many careers from infancy through senior citizens. Who would be your dream on screen collaboration and why? My dream on screen collaboration would be with Will Smith or Taraji P. Henson. I would love to work with them because they are very talented actors and they seem extremely fun to work with! What is one thing that nobody knows about you? One thing that nobody knows is that I'm slightly afraid of pigs. Don't tell anyone! Have you ever been bullied? No, I have never been bullied. I hate to see or hear about kids or teens being bullied. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? Don’t stay silent and tell your parent’s and teachers. Build up your confidence and tell yourself every day that you will not tolerate that bad behavior from those bully’s. Take self-defense classes. Self defense classes will not only teach you how to defend yourself, but they will also teach you how to rise above name callings. If you could talk to your 21-year-old self, what would you tell her to remember about the person that she is and what would you tell her to strive for in the future? I would remind my 21-year-old self to always have others best interests at heart. Looking out for others has always been important to me. No matter what line of work I will be in, I want to make sure others can benefit from it.

What made you want to start acting? Honestly, ever since I was really young I’ve always wanted to act and it’s been a passion ever since. If you could write the perfect role for yourself, what would it be and why? Oh gosh, that’s a tough one. Something that’s like me, or a very happy, fun and bubbly role. Out of all of your roles, which have you identified with the most? Well, I haven’t had any big roles YET so, I’m not sure. You are also an influencer and model. What are five things that you can't live without? My family (mom, dad and sister), a cheese burger, movies, my besties (you know who you are), and playing music+singing. What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? Be nice and have fun! What's your favorite color? Black What is your favorite movie? Blood Moon and Napoleon Dynamite What is your favorite TV show? The Cosby Show Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? I use to have a dog, her name was Suki. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? Sweden What is your favorite food? Cheese burger If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? Dwayne “The Rock†Johnson. After we eat we can work out together. The Rock has been in some of my favorite movies and he just seems like a cool person to hang out with and learn from. What made you want to start acting? My journey to acting came through the sport of tennis. I started to play tennis at the age of six-years-old. Few month into playing tennis, I also started to create tennis related Instagram content that was funny and entertaining. My Instagram content caught the eye of the United States Tennis Association (USTA), so the USTA and US Open, invited me to be a KidCaster at the 2018 US Open in New York City. As a KidCaster I got to create social media content during the tournament for USTA and US Open social media accounts and interview professional tennis players, and participate in press conferences. I enjoyed being on camera and this experience inspired me to pursue an acting career. What is the most difficult thing about being an actor? You have to make choices and truly understand what is important to you. Sometimes I have to cancel plans or change plans, because I receive an audition that might be due the next day. So, if you prioritize what is important to you, it helps to balance all the things that has to be done. In addition, it is important that you have parents, siblings or adults in your life that can help you along the way with school, auditions and taking you to set. So, I am very fortunate that I have parents that are fully supportive with being there for me and helping me with memorizing scripts, recording self tape auditions, taking me to set and helping me with school work. I have personally found that being homeschooled has also provided me added flexibility to balance things. How do you prepare for auditions? The way I try to prepare for audition is that I study the script in detail, discuss it with my family and sometimes with an acting coach. I also practice different take and see what feels natural to me and my personality. When I first started my acting, I thought that the character description provided by casting was something that you had to strictly follow, and that there was no room to bring your own personality into the character. Along the way, I learned that the only unique thing that you have going for yourself is once unique personality. So, the more you bring your personality into a character that you are auditioning for the more successful you are going to be. What is the best part about being on set? For your role in the Showtime series, Shameless, tell us about your character. I play the character Franny Gallagher on Shameless! She is the granddaughter of Frank Gallagher, played by William H Macy, and the daughter of Debbie Gallagher, played by Emma Kenney. How similar and/or different is she to your real personality? In real life, me and Franny Gallagher are completely different so its really fun to play her! Franny hates princesses and all the girly pink stuff but in real life I LOVE anything pink and princess! Franny is also a lot more serious than I am in real life. Normally in between takes I am laughing and telling jokes and playing with my TV mommy and Uncles and then when they say action, I go into Franny mode and get more serious! But its always fun to play someone who is different than yourself! How do you handle rejections? Majority of actors during their careers, will have more “No†than “yes.†I think that just getting to audition for a role is a privilege, and going further to callbacks, director/producer sessions and network test, is a huge win. So, as you go further along in an audition process and you don’t book a role, the disappointments will be bigger and bigger. But, I think that at the end of the day, you are one of a very selected few that made it that far and all the people involved auditioning you will remember you for other projects that you might be a better fit for. What is the one role that you have had that you can identify with the most? Why? Luna in Blood Moon is the role that I identify with the most. I identify with Luna because he was a kid that has a close bond with his mother and is trying to fit in with the kids in the new town. Luna’s big secret is that every full moon I turn into a werewolf and a creature that succumbs to his primal urges for blood and mayhem. Even though Luna is hiding this big secret, he longs to be a normal child that has friends, goes to regular school, goes to friends birthday parties and just be a typical kid. What is the one role that you have had that you can identify with the least? Why? Nothing comes to mind. I identify with all the roles I have played. In addition to acting, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? I like to stay very active so I play tennis, soccer and long distance running. In addition, music is something that I am very passionate about so I play piano and sing! Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? One of my favorite actor is Kevin Hart. I am a big fan of his movies and stand up. I think that he is super funny and talented. And his work ethic inspires me to work hard to succeed. How would you describe your fashion style? I am still figuring out my fashion style, but living in LA with great warm weather, I tend to prefer comfortable fashion like sneakers, jeans and a cool T-shirt. Who are some of your favorite actors that you have worked with? I worked with Megalyn Echikunwoke in Blood Moon and I learned so much from working with her. She was the nicest person and took me under her wing and made me so comfortable working with her. It would be a dream come true to work with her again. What advice would you give other kids that want to break into the entertainment industry? My dad once told me “You don’t have to wait until you grow up to do what you want to do in life,†so I have always remembered that in everything that I do and try to accomplish in life. So, my advice would be that if you really have passion for acting go for it at any age. Also it’s important to remember that: To always be yourself, Not booking a role does not mean failure, and It’s a long Journey so have fun. Who would be your dream on screen collaboration and why? I am a huge fan of The Amazing Spiderman! Spiderman is just a cool and very relatable superhero. I have been a fan of the Spiderman movies my whole life pretty much, so would be a dream come true to play Spiderman on the big screen. One of my favorite person is The Rock, so I would also love to work with him in an action/comedy movie. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? That I speak a language called Tigrinya. Have you ever been bullied? No, I don’t think that I have ever been bullied. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? My advice would be to talk about it with your family and if it’s happening at school with your teachers. It’s important that people close to you and people that can help you know what you are going through.

Beauty has no age.

At 67 years old, JoAni Johnson was handpicked by Rihanna to become one of the new faces of her luxury fashion line Fenty Maison. The average company would have overlooked and gave a million excuses to why she would not have been a good fit for this fashion line. Society to a certain extent, has influence over us to believe that beauty is only a young person with a perfect face, hair, and a perfect body. True, beauty isn’t defined by those things, but more so how gracefully you change as you age. When you know who you are and where you’re going in life, that alone is beautiful all by itself and it’s something about staying true to yourself whether you’re 20, 30, 40, 50, or 60. You begin to inspire others in ways you would never imagine and attract blessings in your life that you didn’t see coming. People you had no idea was watching you will begin their journey of staying true to themselves all because you decided to stay true to yourself. Let JoAni Johnson be a reminder that, authenticity is the key to your beauty having no age.

What are five things that you can't live without? Family, friends , cheer , my influencer family, and sour candy. What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? Everything happens for a reason is one motto I live by. In my life I have faced huge family losses, auditions that have not gone my way, cheer teams I didn’t make it as recently as last May when the entire cheer industry told us we won worlds and then somehow placed 2nd. As upset as I might be or disappointed at the moment, I know deep down there is a reason that I might not see at that very moment but hopefully soon another opportunity will come my way or if someone passes for example I know it is in the plan and to be patient for the “whyâ€. What's your favorite color? Purple What is your favorite movie? Hunger Games What is your favorite TV show? Gossip Girl Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? Yes, I have 5 pets. My dogs names are Watson and Dempsey, my turtles name is Freddy, my cat's name is Waylynn, and my fish’s name is Angel. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? Bahamas What is your favorite food? Sushi If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? I would pick my Angel brother Tallin McCoy. My brother passed when he was a baby so if I could go to dinner with him that would be everything. I work so hard in everything I do and cherish life so much because of him and I want him to know that he inspires me daily and that he is loved. What made you want to start acting? When I was on sets especially editorial shoots I found myself loving every part of this and really digging deep to become the character in the “set†to get authentic photos and decided I wanted to expand what I did and start acting. I hope to grow as an actress and do more of that. What is the one role that you have had that you can identify with the least? Why? I was asked to play a much older character and although wardrobe, makeup and hair did an amazing job, I just couldn’t identify with a this character. You are also an influencer and model. Who are some of your favorite brands that you have worked with? My favorite brands that I have worked thus far are Rock Your Hair, Goli Gummy, Tillys, and Girls Rock. As an influencer and model, who are some brands that you'd like to work with? I have always wanted to work with Halo Top, Zara and Brandi Melville. I love working with companies that I strongly believe in the products and love what I am representing. In addition to everything else that you do, you are also an athlete. How did you get started in cheerleading? My mom put me in gymnastics at a gymnastics/cheerleading gym and I though I enjoyed gymnastics I always found myself watching the cheer team. I ended up trying it and never looked back and here I am 11 years later, still doing cheer. What is your favorite part about being an athlete/cheerleader? My favorite parts about cheering would definitely have to be the people I have met along the way, the life lessons you learn, and traveling to comps with my best friends. In addition to acting, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? I am very passionate about anything that involves inspiring kids. I was once a kid that had a dream and was inspired by an older influencer who changed my life and I want to be that person for someone else . Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? There are so many to name but Jennifer Lawrence is one actress I love. Not only is she incredible at her craft and has done amazing movies like the hunger games but she seems so humble, and not afraid to be herself . How would you describe your fashion style? I am trendy but also love ... love glam, classic, and casual and honestly hard to label because the biggest thing for me is feeling and looking authentic to who I am. Who are some of your favorite actors that you have worked with? Cheryl Underwood was a blast to work with. She had me laughing the entire time. What advice would you give other kids that want to break into the entertainment industry? I would say to go for it, follow your dreams and dive right in, and do not hold back. It is a journey that involves tons of hard work and as long as you keep moving forward you can accomplish anything! Who would be your dream on screen collaboration and why? Victoria Justice. I think it would be amazing to be side by side with the girl I grew up watching and admiring. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? That I have an angel brother. Have you ever been bullied? Yes What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? As hard as it is, do not let it affect you. Bullies are usually jealous of you and going through their own struggles. They want you to “feel†to ably the pain they are so Do not give it to them. That only makes them more powerful. Do not let anyone dull your sparkle. Keep your head up high and keep walking your path. If you could talk to your 21-year-old self, what would you tell her to remember about the person that she is and what would you tell her to strive for in the future? If I had the ability to talk to her I would tell her to not loose sight of the goal and to continue to be humble and stay your course, continue to Be You and live unconditionally.

So, I tried acting and I ended up loving it! What is the most diffcult thing about being an actress? The most difficult thing about acting is anything negative that comes in your way. My advice is to just believe in yourself and work around it. What is the one character that you have portrayed that is the most similar to you and why? What has been the one character that has been most different from you and why? My role in The Boss Movie starring Melissa McCarthy is a girl scout who fights for what she wants...literally lol. She is both similar and different from my real personality. She is similar because I both go for what I want in life but I do it in a nicer way. The way she is different is she is more of a mean girl and I am a very kind person. You are also a model. Tell us how you got started in the industry. I started modeling at a very young age. My family influenced me once again because my parents have always held fashion shows and of course I've walked in the shows. So ever since then, I've never stopped modeling and I've been loving it! One of my favorite actresses is Zendaya! How would you describe your fashion style? My fashion style is so unique and different. I have a lot of different styles of fashion that I love so I tend to switch it up pretty often! Who are some of your favorite actors that you have worked with? A few of my favorite actresses that I've worked with are Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Bell and Kerry Washington. What advice would you give other kids that want to break into the entertainment industry? My advice for anyone who wants to get into the entertainment industry is to always stay true to yourself and never give up on anything you want to achieve! Who would be your dream on screen collaboration and why? I would love to have an on screen collaboration with Marsai Martin, Zendaya, and China Anne McClain! They are all great beautiful actresses and they bring a lot of happiness to people with their talent! What is one thing that nobody knows about you? No one knows that I can eat with chopsticks! It is actually a hidden talent of mine! Have you ever been bullied? I have never experienced bullying. Of course, people have said some really rude mean things to me but I have never experienced first hand bullying. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? My advice to anyone that is suffering from bullying is to tell your parents or someone in your family so they can be aware of what's happening and hopefully they can help put an end to the bullying. Also, never be afraid to stand up to the bully and show them that you are not to be messed with. If you could talk to your 21-year-old self, what would you tell her to remember about the person that you are today and what would you tell her to remember to strive for in the future? I would tell my 21-year-old self to remember that she is a strong independent woman and she can do anything she puts her mind to! Keep striving for greatness and success!

Zach Hennessey was born on July 18th, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada although he spent much of his childhood in Atlanta, GA. Zach had a strong interest in acting when he was very young. When he was only four years old, he would point to the television and say that he wanted to be on TV. At age 9, he got hooked on the show The Walking Dead which was being filmed in Atlanta. His parents took him to a Walker Stalker conference and he got to meet a couple of the cast members and got to ask a couple of the kids on the show how they got into acting. From there, he ended up getting introduced his acting coach, Eric Lingvall, and later got signed with his first agency. After Zach graduated from elementary school in Roswell, GA, his parents too a took a leap of faith, sold their house and moved west to Hollywood, CA so that Zach could pursue his young dreams of becoming an actor. If so, what kind and what's their name? 2 Dogs, Archie and Chloe What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? MThe Bahamas What is your favorite food? Italian Food If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? I would love to bring Walt Disney back to life and have diner with him because he changed the world and made it a happier place to live with his vision and innovation. Disneyland is my happy place!. What made you want to start acting? As a kid I would watch the TV show The Walking Dead and tell my parents that I wanted to be on TV like Carl, who was one of the main characters. From there my parents got me a professional headshot and acting classes and I got signed with an agent in Atlanta, GA. . What is the most difficult thing about being an actor? The hardest part about acting is memorizing your script and then having to get into character on days notice for a new role. Plus, you really need to take rejection well because in most cases you get 99 no's to every 1 yes. How do you prepare for an audition? I sit in my room, alone, reading my script for hours. How do you deal with rejection? Rejections are never easy, especially after you spent weeks memorizing your lines, sitting with acting coaches and multiple trips back and forth to auditions and call backs. You just need to stay positive and know that every time you don't get a call back, access your performance and strive to be better next time. You are also an influencer. Tell us about that. As an influencer I get opportunities to collaborate with many different people and brands. A few of my favorites have been with Tik Tok, spending time at the Wish House and working with brands like Hot Wheels and attending the multiple Oscar parties and gifting suites. I would love to work with Supreme, Nike and Machine Gun Kelly. What advice would you give to kids who want to be an influcencer like you? The best way to get started as a social media influencer is to be authentic, do remarkable things and just be yourself. People will appreciate you for who you are, your talent, and your willingness to give back to the world. Also be sure to always be networking. In addition to music, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? In addition to acting, I am really passionate about fashion and design. In fact, I recently started my own clothing line called Funkhouse.com which will be launching soon. I have always been inspired by fashion and I look forward to seeing people wearing some of my designs in the near future. How would you describe your fashion style? I would describe your fashion style as eccentric. I love being different and standing out. Who are some of your favorite actors? My favorite actor is Pete Davidson because I think he plays himself in most of his movies and I think he is hilarious. Who are some of your favorite actors that you have worked with? I have worked with some of the most amazing and talented actors but I think the coolest actor that I shared the spotlight with was the Kool Aide Man, Oh Yea! What advice would you give other kids that want to break into the entertainment industry? If you are trying to break into the entertainment business, be prepared for a long and wild journey. You will have lots of downs and some ups, especially when you are just getting started. Talent will only get you so far, luck will play a role, but your persistence and tenacity will give you the edge. Who would be your dream on screen collaboration and why? I would love the opportunity to work with Morgan Freeman or John Travolta. I have a lot of respect for both of them and I even had the privilege of meeting them and taking a photo, What is one thing that nobody knows about you? One thing that nobody knows about me is that I have over 300 pairs of sneakers. I guess you can call me a sneaker head. Have you ever been bullied? As a kid I was always smaller than most of the other kids in class, there were a few kids that would pick on me and say mean things. I always stood up for myself and eventually they would stop. I would also stand up for others that were being bullied and try to cheer them up. Bullying needs to just stop, there needs to be more positive energy in the world and less negative energy. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? Always stick up for yourself and if you see something say something. If you could talk to your 21-year-old self, what would you tell him to remember about the person that he is and what would you tell himto strive for in the future? If I could talk to my 21-year-old self, I would tell him to always remember where he came from, continue to set goals, and .

Know how special you are...
What are five things that you can't live without? Television, film, music, computer, and art. What's your life's motto or advice that you live by? I've always felt that no matter how hard things get or no matter how much you doubt yourself, it is important to never forget what made you want to pursue your passion as a career in the first place. What's your favorite color? Yellow What is your favorite movie? My favorite animated movie is Rugrats in Paris: The Movie and my favorite live action movie is The Lighthouse. What is your favorite TV show? My favorite animated TV show is Rugrats and my favorite live action TV show is Malcolm in the Middle. Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what's their name? I currently don't have any pets. I have had pet rabbits, fish, birds, and newts in the past though. What is your favorite place that you've traveled to? I don't get out much (laughs), but I've always loved going to LA. What is your favorite food? Ice cream If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be with and why? That's a tough one, but probably David Cronenberg because he is one of my most favorite directors. I would love to talk with him about how he comes up with his incredibly original movie ideas. Plus, his movies have affected me in terms of how I see film since I saw my first movie of his when I was in my early teens. How did you get started as a writer and artist? I've always had a passion for art since I was a little kid. I never envisioned myself doing anything else other than working in the entertainment industry. Before I was even a teenager I knew I would be an artist in some way or another. I have been constantly applying to jobs while attending college for Graphic Design, Animation and Motion Graphics. I do have my own little business, where I provide my artistic services as well. As for writing, one of my hobbies has always been watching, reading and listening to celebrity interviews. I feel it's a great way to get to know the performers we love beyond their work. I thought it would be fun to try reaching out to various visual artists on Facebook and interviewing them through Messenger. It has since then blossomed into me interviewing artists from all creative fields through social media direct messaging, emailing, audio recording, and video calling. What is your favorite genre to write and why? In school I was required to write in multiple genres, but I was always told that my best work were my research essays. I would say I am an equally creative and factual person, but I too feel those were my best essays. Plus, considering the fact what I mainly write nowadays are my questions for interviews I conduct, I would say Non-fiction has always been my favorite. However, I have most recently been writing an original screenplay. It is finished and is a Drama. I too enjoyed writing this, mainly because I got to be very creative with it. What is your favorite medium to work with and why? As much as I love working digitally using programs like Illustrator and Photoshop, traditional mediums will always be a favorite of mine. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that is how I started loving art. I also feel it gives my work a more original looking touch that I sometimes feel I can't give with digital. You have interviewed tons of people for your online magazine. What has been your favorite interview to date and why? They've all been a lot of fun to conduct, but my favorite would probably have to be my interview with Abby Lee Miller. Not only because I am a massive Dance Moms fan, but also because I feel it is the most unique interview I have done. She does so many things. She is not only a reality star, but she is also a performer herself. Plus, she manages many talented kids. When I was writing up the questions I wanted to ask her, they were very different than the ones I normally ask. Who is on your bucket list to interview and why? There's a very long list on my computer of people who I keep bothering (laughs), but if I had to pick one it would be Robert Pattinson. I have been a fan of his for over a decade and he is one of my most favorite actors. I have always enjoyed his interviews, because I feel he has a great sense of humor and gives very honest and original answers. Overall, his interviews are always a lot of fun! Where do you find inspiration for your writing and art work? Since my writing mainly consists of interviews, I get inspired by the movies and shows I watch. I also get inspired by the musicians I listen to. When someone catches my eye or ear, I reach out to their team for an interview. As for my more creative writing work, it's just writing from what I know and exaggerating it by a thousand percent for dramatic effect (laughs). What has always inspired my art work from the beginning has been fanart. Fanart is what got me into drawing in the first place. However, since fanart is not exactly legal to sell, I just pull inspiration from the movies and shows that I am a fan of and make up my own ideas from there. In addition to all that you do, what other things are you are passionate about? (charity work, volunteering, etc.) Can you tell us about this work and why do you feel that it is it important? I'm passionate about anything involving the arts. That is my first love and it always will be. In terms of giving back, I used to be a Girl Scout and volunteered my time to a few charities. I have also donated to charities concerning children in recent years. A couple of years before the pandemic and even during, I have volunteered as a seatfiller both in person and virtually for a variety of award shows and competition shows. I feel it is important to help in anyway we can, especially in times like these. Regarding seatfilling, I just love being apart of making a production happen. To know that a show needs an audience and knowing that I am part of that audience makes me feel good. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? There's so many! I don't think I can pick a most definite favorite. Of course I mentioned Robert Pattinson earlier, but another favorite actor of mine is Willem Dafoe. A favorite actress of mine is Amy Adams. I just love when an actor/actress is so versatile with their roles. Not just when it comes to the projects they pick, but also when they physically change their appearance and/or voice for a role. How would you describe your fashion style? My fashion style is an interesting mix of crazy patterned collared shirts and graphic tees paired with solid colored pants. I've been told I am like a walking billboard for my favorite shows, movies and bands (laughs). Are there any artists that you'd like to collab with? If so, who and why? There are a lot of artists who's work I admire and take inspiration from, but a big one, who I would like to collab with is John Trabbic. He has worked on two of some of my most favorite cartoons, SpongeBob SquarePants and Pig Goat Banana Cricket. I love his easily recognizable style. What advice would you give other kids that want to follow in your footsteps? You have to love it! You need to be literally obsessed with your craft. I always say if you want to be an artist, your brain has to be thinking about art at all times. Make sure you are constantly learning. For example, if you are watching a movie, of course you want to be entertained, but you also have to study what you are seeing. Why does that shot work? Why is that song in the background? Then, in the end ask yourself, why was that a good movie? Take those things you learned and apply it to your own work. What can people expect next from you? A lot more interviews and art pieces. I also have just recently finished my screenplay. I am currently in the proofreading stage of it. Once it is officially done, I will be contacting film studios. What is one thing that nobody knows about you? I name every single electronic device that I own. From my computer mouse to my iPod (laughs). Have you ever been bullied? Yes, I have. Not so much in person, but I have been bullied online a few times. What is your advice to kids that are suffering from bullying? I always feel it is best to ignore bullies. People are going to say and think what they want to, but you don't have to listen to them. The best way to stand up to a bully is by doing whatever makes you happy. If you could talk to your 15-year-old self, what would you tell her to remember about the person that she is and what would you tell her to strive for in the future? Wow, that was eight years ago! I feel old now (laughs). That was when I first started watching R-rated movies and felt like I knew everything (laughs). I would tell her that she doesn't know everything. She has a lot to learn and to keep dreaming about working in the entertainment industry, because eventually it will happen.
