S & S Homes holds weekly training meetings with all field workers. They have first aid kits in all their trucks and in the office. Every employee knows how and who to report an incident to. They do monthly onsite walks. S & S Homes feels that their safety efforts have been positive and continues to bring safety topics up in communication within their company. They want to be a safe employer and have a safe work environment. Every employee gets safety training.

2022 SUHBA Safety Awards
At Pacific Supply, "safety" is their number one core value. At Pacific Supply St George, they have received a safety award for 5 straight years from their company. They hold weekly safety meetings. They make safety their top priority so that their employees make it home safely to their families.
Visionary Homes strives to make their work sites safe by clearly outlining the standards of their safety program with posted signs, high visibility clothing, PPE, and physical barriers like fences on site to keep non-working personnel out of the construction zone. They also use temporary hi-visibility railings to make sure they keep visitors safe. They have produced 3 times as many hi-visibility items that they pass out to anyone who visits their sites. This encourages their trade partners to comply with their company standards. Visionary Homes has had limited injuries in their division and have increased their trade partner count.
Countertop Source has all employees wear respirators that are fit tested and also screened by a healthcare professional as required by OSHA. They hold weekly safety meetings with their entire staff in all departments and go over various safety topics. In October 2021, they provided 46 employees training in CPR and First Aid. They also held a defensive driving course in 2021 for their employees. They have not had any major incidents outside minor sprains or stitches. All minor injuries were dealt with using basic first aid.
Safety is the responsibility of every manager and employee at Stephen Wade Auto Center. Their program consists of Management Support, Safety Meetings, Safety Committees, Risk Assessment Team, Safe Task Analysis, Accident Investigation and Safety Inspections. They have seen a big improvement in their safety culture because of their safety program. Building a proactive culture is the key to their success and placing safety committees in each location allows for valuable input from their employees and gets them involved.

HB 131 - "Watershed Restoration Initiative" - defines terms; creates the Watershed Restoration Initiative within the Department of Natural Resources; sets the policies and objectives of the initiative; describes how the initiative will be administered and funded; requires the initiative to submit an annual report to the Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment Interim Committee; and creates the Watershed Restoration Expendable Special Revenue Fund. Status: Passed House 2-7, Passed Senate 2-18 HB282 - "Water Wise Landscaping Amendments" - defines terms; prohibits certain public or private entities from prohibiting water wise landscaping; and authorizes certain landscaping requirements. On Jan. 1, 2023 new minimum efficiency standards for air conditioners and heat pumps will go into effect across the country. Federal standards for equipment efficiencies are implemented by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in accordance with the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA) of 1975. This is the first time since 2015 DOE is updating air conditioner and heat pump efficiency standards. All new units will be required to meet the updated standards. Home builders and HVAC contractors should be getting ready for the transition as equipment meeting older standards will be phased out. For the Southeast and Southwest regions (this does not apply to Utah), the Jan. 1, 2023, deadline will also apply to the installation of air conditioning systems at the building. The installation deadline applies only to AC units (not to heat pumps and not to other specialty systems), and does not apply to the North region.
