Frequently Asked Questions
Want to streamline your inbox? You can use g-mail filters to automatically put certain e-mails into folders you've made; forward certain e-mails to another account; or add labels (tags) to certain e-mails. Watch the Techie Tuesday video above to see how. A caveat (warning): if you send e-mails directly to specific folders, you may not immediately notice when you have a new e-mail.
Taming your in-box using filters!
What are the Media Center’s hours? Monday – Thursday: 6:30-2:30 Friday: 6:30-2:05 How do I get in touch with a Media Maven? Mrs. Kenney - janetkenney@bristolk12.org Mrs. Newman - wendynewman@bristolk12.org When can I come to the library? NO PASSES are needed BEFORE/ AFTER SCHOOL or DURING YOUR LUNCH, but space is first come, first served. If you want to come during study hall, you need to come to the library BEFORE SCHOOL and sign-up for the period you’d like to come. If the library is reserved for classes during particular periods, space may be limited. If you have a study hall library pass, please come directly to the library. We will take your attendance. If you want to come during a class, your classroom teacher should call us first to make sure we have space and then sign a pass in your agenda. We will only accept passes from the teacher you are scheduled for during that block (for instance, if you are supposed to be in Science Class, we will NOT accept a pass from your English teacher) YOUR SUBJECT TEACHER CANNOT GIVE YOU A STUDY HALL PASS!!! SUBSTITUTES MAY NOT sign library passes--so please don’t ask them to :) What are your Circulation Policies? (how many books can be checked out, etc.) Fiction and Non-Fiction Books are checked out for 3 weeks Reference Books (like encyclopedias) can be checked out overnight. Magazines may NOT be checked out. If you need an old one to cut out pictures from, ask us. Overdue materials cost 5¢ a day. If you have any overdue materials, you may lose privileges to check out more books. You can renew a book (check-it out again) as many times as needed--as long as no one else put it on hold. You do NOT have to have a book with you to renew it--just ask us!
Planning ahead will go a long way toward making sure you can get into the library when you need to.
