Dreaming of an RV Adventure?
Visit Big Bend National Park. Relax on South Padre Island. Discover tracks from the Cretaceous Age in Dinosaur Valley State Park. With a new recreational vehicle, the possibilities for adventure are endless. And what better way to travel than as pilot of an RV? It’s your home and transportation, all in one.
If this sounds like your kind of road trip, check out these tips from ReserveAmerica.com:
Consider whether to rent or buy. Do you have a place to store an RV? Will you road trip often? Renting allows you to try it before purchasing.
Know how it works. By educating yourself, you can steer clear of expensive, avoidable mistakes.
Practice driving. Not many of us are used to controlling such a large vehicle! Practice pulling into parking lots, maneuvering around traffic and going up hills, so you have some experience behind the wheel before go-time.
Pack equipment. Some helpful items include extra fuses, light bulbs and jumper cables.
Plan ahead. Consider your budget, including food, activities and overnights. Have your route and stops figured out to avoid unfortunate surprises, like parking issues, a construction detour or a no vacancy sign.
Prepare for the campground. Check the site for obstacles like low-hanging branches; locate the electrical, water and sewage hookups; level, stabilize and secure your RV; then connect to the electrical and drain hookups.
Whether you’re buying or renting an RV, purchasing equipment to enjoy while you travel or looking for some spending money, turn to us. We offer recreational vehicle loans, as well as personal loans1, with low rates and easy terms. We can help make your next adventure memorable and affordable. Call, text or
email us for details.

Are you checking your credit report regularly? If not, you should be. According to data from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, credit report errors
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s report found that in 2020, consumers filed 280,000 complaints about credit reporting issues. As The New York Times reports, that was a 50 percent increase compared to 2019. The most common mistakes consumers found on credit reports included repaid loans appearing as unpaid, debts falsely denoted as being in collection, and incorrect personal information.
These mistakes can cost you dearly. The information in your credit report is used by lenders to determine whether you receive loans, credit cards, mortgages and more. Your credit report is also used by lenders to set interest rates on loans.
The key to preventing credit report errors is to be vigilant. Luckily for you, it’s easier now than ever to check your credit report, right in online or mobile banking. If you spot any errors, report them to the credit bureau. You can file a complaint online, but if you file via mail, send it certified so you have verification it was delivered. Keep copies of the complaint for your personal records.
