Students must earn course points through enrolling in Honors-designated classes or contracting existing courses. Course points are determined by credit hours, up to a maximum of three points per course. Course points will only be awarded for grades of A or B; however, Honors eligibility cannot be based on grade alone. Courses must include an Honors component.
Honors students will be required to earn 18 Honors points, plus a Capstone Project to receive an Honors degree. Points are earned through a combination of courses and experiences. To graduate with an Honors degree, students must complete the degree requirements for their major, maintain a cumulative 3.2 UTA GPA, be a member of the Honors College in good standing, earn a minimum of 18 Honors points, and complete and present a Capstone Project.
Students may earn points through co-curricular experiences. Each experience may be used only one time. Students may receive points for up to two experiences in a given semester. Points for Honors College leadership involvement are available to all students, regardless of major. Students must submit their proposed experience points through a verification form by the deadline for the semester in which they participate in the experience.
