Happy Anniversary!
A church is more than the building, and the members of Asbury First are proving this time and again. We aim to keep connected with an e-newsletter that will highlight the unique stories of our amazing community.

BEHIND THE SCENES
October 8, 2020
Here are some behind the scenes images from our 200th Celebration Worship Serivce. (Continued on next page.)
Where's Sarah?
Altar Guild set up on Saturday.
Did you catch me on screen? I had a great time running around the sanctuary in soft, fuzzy socks to not make a sound while I took pictures during the service. I did my best to avoid getting caught on the cameras, but ended up stuck in the Sachristy for a while.
Thanks to all who made this celebration possible. It was definitely different from what we imagined, but it will be an anniversary to remember. Happy 200th, Asbury First!
FEATURING
And so begins Youth Group 2020-2021! Recently, we kicked off our Fall hybrid schedule meeting on campus in person. We had a great night of fellowship and games and seeing faces in person for the first time since March. It was so great to be back together again and we look forward to seeing you on Zoom as well. If you're not sure what our hybrid schedule is let us know and we can make sure to get you that information. — Summer Sattora, Assistant Youth Minister

OUTREACH
This is an adorable family of four boys, who were referred for clothes and who were very grateful for the clothes and the winter coats that we were able to give them. In the picture you’ll see that most of the coats are piled up on the chair except for the littlest boy who is clearly happy to have a new winter coat. When we fill orders this time of year we try our best to give coats to the family members, particularly the children. When we are open again to allow donations, we are hoping that every family will dig in their closets and find children’s adult coats that are no longer being worn. We even take coats that are in good condition if they need a new zipper and we get another zipper put in them. — Wendy Cohen, Co-Director of the Storehouse
After some logistics fun, a truck pulled up at Asbury First recently, and voila — we now have this giant pile of the sorts of staples we routinely go buy. This is what a TON-AND-A-HALF of food looks like (well 2.7 tons, above)! Thank-you to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for this generous donation to Keeping Our Promise and the Grocery Bag Ministry to help with our food baskets! Thanks to Jim Carter, Brian Carter, and Bob Peck from the GBM, and Elder McCloy, Elder Ritchie, and Elder Gaston, who are missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, for unloading 2,700 pounds of food!
