Crate
Because this will be your puppy's first night away from their siblings, we love the Snuggle Puppy! With a beating heart and heat pack options, this sweet toy will be a good companion as they learn to sleep without their siblings.
Our recommendations
NutriSource Small and Medium Breed Puppy food is what we trust for all our pups! Our adult females and males continue to eat the adult recipe. There are many great foods out there, but this is one that we favor at Finney Ranch.
The MidWest Homes Pet Crate is a great option for your family member. It comes in a variety of sizes, door options, and colors. Choosing one with a divider is a good choice as your new puppy will grow! Our puppies are used to crates. Be ready for a bit of crying that first week, however, as they will be without their litter mates! It's not the crate they dislike.

We start our puppies off for success with NuVet Plus K-9 Wafers. This is a high-quality supplement focused on keeping your pet's immune system and overall health strong. They also have a powder option if you prefer that.

Keep your pup's ears clean and healthy with NuVet Ear Cleaner. This is safe for dogs of all ages.
While this task can feel more like a chore, cleaning your puppy's teeth is vital to their health and well-being. Starting this at a young age is crucial. A trick we learned is to use a piece of gauze around the finger smothered in dog-safe toothpaste. This technique is a little less daunting for new puppies than a toothbrush. Run your finger over all their teeth and massage the gums.

Bathing
We love BioSilk Shampoo and Conditioner for our dogs. Another recommendation is Cowboy Magic Shampoo and Conditioner. Your dog should only be washed when dirty/smelly. Otherwise a good body wipe will do the trick!
Your puppies are leaving Finney Ranch with the following: wormed at 2, 4, 6, 8 weeks: pyrantel kennel cough: neopar 5-way vaccination and 5-day panacur treatment microchip - register your pup at https://buddyid.com/ When finding a vet, find someone you trust! This might mean "vet-hopping" or calling ahead. You want to feel comfortable, as well as have your dog enjoy going.
Your puppies are loved and handled from a very young age. By continuing to handle and touch your dog all over (gently, not rough) will teach your dog that you are allowed to touch them everywhere. This helps in the case they're injured, they have grabbed something they shouldn't, or for going to the vet for wellness check-ups. Focus on their mouth, ears, tail, sanitary area, and between the paw pads, as well as the full body.

Physical Handling
Potty Bells are a customer favorite. You can put this on any door in your house and train your dog to ring them when it's time to go outside for potty.
Start off small and easy. Many people expect their dog to be great on leash from day one. They need to learn! At this stage, start with a simple collar (sized to fit two fingers underneath) and 6 foot leash. Keep training sessions short in the beginning, and even feel free to leave the leash on inside! Get them used to the feeling. A good trick for learning to walk well on leash - get a long spoon and cover the top in peanut butter. As you walk together, keep the spoon down by your side. They'll learn that walking next to you gives them goodies!
AussieDoodles are the product of two very smart, athletic, and fun breeds. Of course, every dog is different, but we're confident the puppy you bring home will mold into your family. However, this will not happen overnight. We recommend consulting with a licensed trainer so that you and your puppy can bond and reach your highest potential together. Do not expect greatness overnight - training is a process. Stay patient and consistent. Some online trainers we recommend: Zak George McCann Dog Training Cesar Milan Hypawthesis

Car Safety
A seatbelt or car carrier are great options for keeping your dog safe as you travel with your puppy.
