Welcome
Call to Worship
All are invited to read the bold-faced type; the lay reader will read the unbolded type. From every corner of the world We hear the voice of God. With every cell of our being We feel the strength of God. In every word we utter We hear the song of God. With every breath we take We know the peace of God.

Opening Hymn
#437 "This Is My Song"

Scripture
Psalm 23 (KJV)
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
To hear the word
Prayer of Confession
God of our hearts, you know what our week was like. You know the places we tried to ignore the pull to love. You know the ways we tried to sidestep the call to your work. God of our hearts, you know what our week was like.
Silent Confession
Word of Assurance
Beloved Friends, hear the good news. God loves us for who we are, God loves us every moment of every day. God loves us unconditionally. Thanks be to God.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Amen.
Gloria Hymnal #102, vs. 3 (alt.)
All glory be to God, all praise and thanks be given; Whose Son and Spirit reign as one in highest Heaven; Our one eternal God, whom earth and heaven adore; For thus it was, is now, and shall be evermore.
Anthem

“Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us†— Joel Raney; words by Dorothy Thrupp
Savior, like a shepherd lead us, much we need Thy tender care; In Thy pleasant pastures feed us, for our use Thy folds prepare: We are Thine, do Thou befriend us, be the guardian of our way; Keep Thy flock, from sin defend us, seek us when we go astray: Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast bought us, Thine we are; Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.
Early let us seek Thy favor, early let us do Thy will; Blessed Lord and only Savior, with Thy love our bosoms fill: Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast loved us, love us still; Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast loved us, love us still.
Children's Time
Children of all ages are invited to join us in this special moment.
Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Offertory

“Come and Find the Quiet Center†— Swee Hong Lin; words by Shirley Erena Murray
Come and find the quiet center in the crowded life we lead, Find the room for hope to enter, find the frame where we are freed: Clear the chaos and the clutter, clear our eyes, that we can see All the things that really matter, be at peace, and simply be.
Silence is a friend who claims us, cools the heat and slows the pace, God it is who speaks and names us, knows our being, touches base, Making space within our thinking, lifting shades to show the sun, Raising courage when we're shrinking, finding scope for faith begun.
In the Spirit let us travel, open to each other's pain, Let our loves and fears unravel, celebrate the space we gain; There's a place for deepest dreaming, there's a time for heart to care, In the Spirit's lively scheming there is always room to spare.
Doxology
Hymnal #95

Thank You, Michele!
It is with mixed emotions that we report that Michele Cooley, our current Director of the Dining and Caring Center, has accepted a new position with another local agency. We are so grateful for the work that she has done with us over the last twelve years and invite you to join us for a reception in her honor following the 9 am service on Sunday, July 18. We wish her well in all her future endeavors.
This is an exciting time within the life of the congregation! As we prepare to break ground on our new Outreach Center this Fall (keep September 19 tentatively on your calendars), go online to check out a few outreach related updates we want to share with you.
Honoring Michele Cooley
