Welcome Ellie Cady, Charlie Cady
Call to Worship Declan Shafer
All are invited to read the bold-faced type; the lay reader will read the unbolded type. We gather together on holy ground and in sacred space. Our present location doesn’t matter. Our time together is set aside as holy. We recognize the presence of God in our space. We come tired and energized, fearful and hopeful. We come as we are, we come to worship the Lord.
Opening Hymn
#733 "Marching to Zion" (vv. 1, 4) Words: Isaac Watts, 1707; refrain by Robert Lowry; Tune: Marching to Zion, Lowry
9 & 11 am • June 6, 2021
The community gathers As the community gathers, may the music of the prelude draw your hearts and minds to God.

Youth Sunday
Prayer of Confession Keely Shafer
Gracious God, forgive us when we fail to notice the light of sunrises and sunsets, the healing sounds of flowing water, and the beauty that surrounds us. Stay with us, God, when we fail to listen to your voice, leading and guiding us. May your grace encompass us when we fail to love as you would have us love.
Silent Confession
9 & 11 am
Presentation, Vows, and Baptism
Henry Franklin Pugachev, child of Sarah and Leonid Pugachev
Congregational Response
Will you, with God's help, so order your lives after the example of Christ, that this child, surrounded by steadfast love, may be established in the faith, and confirmed and strengthened in the way that leads to life eternal? We will.
To hear the word
Scripture Psalm 119:105-112
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, to observe your righteous ordinances. I am severely afflicted; give me life, O Lord, according to your word. Accept my offerings of praise, O Lord, and teach me your ordinances. I hold my life in my hand continually, but I do not forget your law. The wicked have laid a snare for me, but I do not stray from your precepts. Your decrees are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart. I incline my heart to perform your statutes forever, to the end.
TO CELEBRATE BAPTISM (9 am only)
Word of Assurance
Be assured that God loves you, always has and always will. In that assurance may you find peace. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Amen.
Gloria Hymnal #102, vs. 3 (alt.)
All glory be to God, all praise and thanks be given; Whose Son and Spirit reign as one in highest Heaven; Our one eternal God, whom earth and heaven adore; For thus it was, is now, and shall be evermore.
Children's Time Emma Giordano, Hailey Giordano, and Emma McQuillan
Children of all ages are invited to join us in this special moment.
Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Hymn
#203 "Hail to the Lord's Anointed", vv. 1, 3 Words: James Montgomery; Tune: Ellacombe, 18th cent. German

“I Am Still Your Dreamer” — Words and Music by Pinkzebra All my life, you have been by my side, carried me high, kissed me goodnight, I was your dreamer.. Now I'm grown, my journey has just begun. I'm looking back — this was my life. I will remember it all. And I thank you for the moments when I learned how to stand on my own. And I'm grateful for the memories of the life and the love I have known. And I want you to know not everything is changing. There's a place deep in my heart that will stay with you for now and always. Here we stand, ready for what may come, filled with our hopes, filled with our dreams. They will stay close to our hearts. One by one, we go to find our way out in the world, living our lives, true to ourselves we will be. And we thank you for the moments you showed, showed us the way we should live. We have flourished from love you taught us to give, and we want you to know: not everything is changing. There's a place deep in our hearts that will stay with you now and always. When I was a child, though I was small, I was your dreamer pretending to soar. Fairy-tale scenes, chasing my dreams. This is my time now to try something more. I hope that I can find what my heart's longing for. And I can't wait to see what's in store. I'll walk through that door. And I thank you for the moments when I learned how to stand on my own. And I'm grateful for the memories of the life and the love I have known. And I want you to know not everything is changing. There's a place deep in my heart that will stay. So when I see the open sky, I will choose to fly. I am still your dreamer.

Open to All We believe we are all equal in God’s eyes and are all one in Christ. We extend hospitality and encourage full participation for all regardless of any perceived defining characteristic. Worship We believe we are at our best when we connect to God together through preaching, prayer, and song. We strive for excellence in all we do, especially in our worship experience. Community We believe we are better together; fellowship and care are keys to love and life. Outreach We believe everyone deserves hope and fullness of life. We endeavor to practice mercy and work for justice in our local and extended community. Discipleship We believe we—adults, youth, and children alike—are called to grow in our faith both as a community and as individuals through education, regular worship, meaningful fellowship, a commitment to service, and celebrating rites of passage together. Generosity We believe what we have is a gift from God. We share our gifts with an open heart to help meet needs at Asbury First, the Rochester community, and throughout the world. Stewardship We believe we must care for the human, physical, and financial resources with which we have been entrusted.
