Where are we now?
The Lenox Leader
As we turn our sights to the summer of 2021 we are happy to say that an extremely difficult summer has given way to new insight, awareness, and optimism for managing camp in a COVID19 reality. While we were not able to run Camp Lenox in our historic manner, we did open as a campground and were able to host many families and Airbnb guests throughout the summer and into the fall. It was a pleasure to see so many campers visit this past summer to enjoy camp, reconnect with their "home away from home", and to laugh, run, and play for a brief time. We are truly thankful for your outstanding love and support during these difficult times. We now know Camp Lenox can operate a safe and secure camp - this was a huge realization. We are very confident the summer of 2021 will have a different outcome because: Berkshire County continues to have an almost nonexistent rate of COVID infection with less than 4 cases per 100,000 over the last 4 months. Camps in the Northeast that were allowed to open did a great job and had zero infection rates during their camp sessions. Directors shared that campers adapted well to the new protocols of camp life and had special summers. Camp Lenox ran 5 weeks of family camp, along with hosting Airbnb guests into the fall. We regularly hosted camp populations of almost 120 people and successfully implemented and maintained all COVID protocols that the BOH asked of us. We had zero COVID infection. Day camps were allowed to open this past summer. There is strong public sentiment that sleep away camps are actually less likely to have COVID infection than the daily population turnover of a day camp. State officials are now realizing that sleep way camps create a natural quarantine "bubble" with their distance from cities. Testing is becoming more accessible and reliable each month. This will add to the safety and wellbeing of our insular camp community. Western Mass camps have retained a lobbying firm to advance the camping perspective at the executive level of state government. We do not believe a truly educated decision was made about camps' capabilities last summer, nor was it understood that camps employ residential physicians and nursing staff. We know you are busy with work, school, and life, but the New Year is not far away and with it, a great summer awaits all our campers in 2021. No matter what our Camp Lenox "bubble" may look like next summer, each and every day will be a spirited adventure, treasured by all. Keeping the Torch Burning, Rich & Stephanie

Reunion at Camp!
This past weekend, we hosted the first ever reunion on campgrounds! We had a blast and we think our campers did too. There has been little good to come out of the Coronavirus Pandemic, however, it did prompt us to host our very first camp reunion on Lenox soil. We were so happy to be able to share the wonders of camp in fall with our Lenox family. Seeing some familiar faces around camp filled us with joy and reaffirmed why we love camp so much. We enjoyed a hike to the waterfall, S'mores, a pizza lunch and much more.
