Prelude Duane Prill, Organ
Partita on Hyfrydol ("Love Divine, All Loves Excelling") — Charles Callahan
Introit
Lord God, your love has called us here, as we, by love, for love were made; your living likeness still we bear, though marred, dishonored, disobeyed; we come, with all our heart and mind, your call to hear, your love to find. (Words: Brian Wren, 1973; Tune: Carey’s (Surrey), Henry Carey, c. 1723)
*Call to Worship
All are invited to read the bold-faced type; the reader will read the unbolded type. The grace of Christ Jesus be with you all. And also with you. We each have a right to be here, a right not based on our righteousness but on God’s free grace. O give thanks to God who is good, whose saving love endures forever. Let those who are redeemed by God declare it, rescued from trouble and gathered from many lands; From the east and from the west, from the north and from the south, give thanks to God who is always good!

Fourth Sunday in Lent
11 am
To hear the word
Prayer of Confession
When we offer God our confession, we join the beautiful work of reconciliation, which begins when we reconcile with God. Trusting in our Partner in grace, let us make our confession. Gracious and loving God, open our hearts so that we are able to admit to you the fullness of our lives – that which is beautiful and good, and that which is hurtful and hateful. We confess that we do not follow Jesus in all that we do. We love with condition. We judge and condemn. We cast the first stone and keep the logs in our own eyes. We do not turn to you as the source of our healing. Forgive our sin and empower us to be imitators of Christ in love and service.
Silent Confession
Words of Assurance
Friends in Christ, remember that the mercy of God is from everlasting to everlasting, and the grace of God is all-surpassing. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Amen.
*Gloria Hymnal #296, v. 5
Unto God be praise and glory: to the Father and the Son, to th' eternal Spirit honor now and evermore be done; praise and glory in the highest, while unending ages run.
Minute for Mission
School 17 — Rand Warner
Scripture John 3:14-21
[Jesus was speaking to Nicodemus.] "And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. “Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world but in order that the world might be saved through him. Those who believe in him are not condemned, but those who do not believe are condemned already because they have not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than light (cont'd on next page)
Children's Time
Children of all ages are invited to join us in this special moment.
Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
*Hymn
#121 "There's a Wideness in God's Mercy"
Scripture (cont'd)
because their deeds were evil. For all who do evil hate the light and do not come to the light, so that their deeds may not be exposed. But those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God.” The Word of God for the People of God. Thanks be to God.
Anthem Sanctuary Choir
"Wondrous Love" — Tune from William Walker's Southern Harmony, arr. Carson Cooman What wondrous love is this, O my soul! O my soul! What wondrous love is this, O my soul! What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss to bear the dreadful curse, for my soul, for my soul, to bear the dreadful curse for my soul. When I was sinking down, sinking down, sinking down; when I was sinking down, sinking down; when I was sinking down, beneath God’s righteous frown, Christ laid aside his crown for my soul, for my soul. Christ laid aside his crown for my soul. To God and to the Lamb, I will sing, I will sing. to God and to the Lamb, I will sing. to God and to the Lamb, who is the great I AM, while millions join the theme, I will sing, I will sing. While millions join the theme, I will sing!

Call to Prayer
What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer. (Words: Joseph Scriven, c. 1855; Tune: Converse, Charles Converse, 1868)

Monday, March 11, 2 pm - Linden Knoll Wednesday, March 13, 2:30 pm - St. John's Meadows
March 14 is Pi Day (3.14…) and in honor of this, our youth will be selling Pies following our worship services TODAY in the Welcoming Hall. This year, we will have a focus on pizza pies, but we still plan to have a selection of dessert pies available for purchase as well. Pizza pies are $10 - $12 Dessert pies are $15 100% of our proceeds support our youth missions
Invest in your family's future now! Later this year we will be breaking ground on Asbury First's Columbarium project – a sacred, consecrated outdoor space on the South Eastern wall of 1040, designed to provide a final resting place for the remains of our loved ones. Instead of buying a plot in a cemetery, one can reserve a niche for a pair of urns that will be built into the garden-like columbarium. These niches are available to all, but we want to make sure those most closely invested in our community are able to reserve their niche before they're all taken up! Stop by the Columbarium table in the Welcoming Hall after the 11 am service to learn more.
