Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. –1 Corinthians 10:31
CARAVAN OF HOPE
...Let the Countdown Begin
It is our mission to establish and maintain effective communication to the mission teams, our congregation, mission participants, our community, and beyond. We will update, communicate, and generate information and publicity during all phases of the mission through personal contact, emails, social media, publications, web site updates, and other methods as needed. By the grace and power of our Lord, we do this to the benefit of our congregation and community in the name of Jesus the Christ our Lord and Savior.
Our mission is to cast a far reaching net that covers an area as vast as we need to find 5,000 people who need help with a meal. Although when Jesus fed 5,000 they came to him. But he wants us to go out and find them. And that's what we shall do.
Partner recruitment team:
The mission of the Food Procurement Team of the Caravan of Hope is, with God's help and guidance, to use our talents to procure all of the necessary food ingredients and logistical items to prepare and pack a minimum of 5,000 complete boxed meals. These meals will include healthy, high-quality food items that will be distributed in the Tri-state area. The first step in procuring the needed items for our mission will be through seeking donations, both tangible and monetary. Donations of items will be used in the boxes, while monetary donations will be used to purchase additional items as needed. An information letter will be sent to possible donors, subsequently followed by a personal call or visit. Other members of the Caravan of Hope teams can procure donations if possible or give the procurement team leads on possible donors. The procurement team will keep an up-to-date accounting of donors and their donations not only to keep track of what is still needed to complete our mission, but also to be able to recognize and thank all donors at the conclusion of our mission.

Food preparation team:
The mission of the Food Prep Team is to use our talents to assemble and pack approximately 5000 box meals that will be distributed throughout the tri-state area as a outward sign of Gods love and our love for our fellow man. Our team will be in charge of making meals and bagging sandwiches, assembling boxes, transporting stock such as chips, sliced meats, cookies, bottled water, fruit, napkins, condiments from storage to the assembly area, and delivering filled boxes to the holding area. Most packing will be done on Friday September 7th and Sat. September 8th with some organizational tasks to be accomplished on Thursday September 6th. All food prep will be done in a manner consistent within food safety guidelines to ensure our recipients have a safe and wholesome meal. To accomplish this, volunteers will be briefly instructed on their tasks before beginning.
In service to Him, and to the benefit of humanity, we, the Logistics Team of Caravan of Hope, pledge our talents to identify geographic locations and receiving organizations to deliver lunch boxes to the needy and homeless in the tri-state area, and identify and dispatch approximately 50 drivers for the delivery of said lunch boxes. Specific to our mission will be to provide each mobile team with a suggested logistics pack to include table(s), directions and a point of contact at the destination, a degree of training for each 2-person or more mobile team, emergency breakdown procedures, design and deliver a safety briefing, assign each mobile team to a geographic destination, and develop an end-of-mission check-in procedure.
Worship Celebration team:
We, the Worship Celebration Team, vow to glorify the empowering love of God through a celebration at the culmination of the Caravan of Hope mission. Festivities will be held to honor those who set the ultimate example of Christian discipleship and share the experiences had by all participating teams. Specific duties will include planning, organizing, executing the celebration, and collecting feedback from team leaders in the field. Indeed, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!
