Operation: Motion Sensor

Motion Sensor Function Overview The Motion Sensor functionality is available on our EP2, EP2plus and CM3 products as an added feature for after hours monitoring. The Motion Sensor has an internal cool down of a few seconds between seeing motions. Whenever the Motion Sensor is triggered it will turn the visible LED light 'ON'. If it does not see any motion for 5 seconds it will turn the LED light 'OFF'. The cool down between motions is less than the amount of time the LED light remains illuminated. What this means is that the Motion Sensor can see more than one motion without turning the LED light 'OFF'. The time will reset with each motion. Tech Tip: When testing in a closed environment, it is best to allow the LED light on the Motion Sensor to turn off briefly between test motions. This allows for an accurate reading of exactly how many motions it takes to set off the alarm on the Child Check Mate System®. In a real-world scenario, the Child Check Mate System® and the Motion Sensor do not need to wait between motions, this is for testing purposes only to allow a proper count and confirmation of timings. The Motion Sensor can be delayed for a set amount of time should the CM3 come within range of a Key Fob or a Beacon. If the alarm is triggered and then a Key Fob is pressed (or a Beacon is plugged in), the Theft-Mate alarm will be cancelled immediately. The default Motion Sensor window is always 12 Seconds, unless a customer specifically asks the timing be customized to their requirements. Tech Tip: The default Changeover Time is 1 hour but the timing can be customized at the request of a customer. Please refer to the Key Fob and Beacon manuals for more information on their operation. The Beacon is a wall mounted unit that will deactivate the Theft-Mate System® within a short radius until the unit leaves its range. It is intended to facilitate work on buses, allowing free movement on and off the bus without the need to unplug the System or keep the ignition 'ON'.
