PURE MOUNTAIN BIKE
10 Under the Ben
Often described as the flagship of the No Fuss fleet and the best endurance event of it's type in the UK, 10 Under sticks to the classic mountain bike endurance marathon format of a 10-mile lap and a 10-hour time limit. The event takes place on the trails in the shadows of Ben Nevis. It is a classic race that has stood the test of time and continues to attract an average of 700 riders
Macavalanche and the Mountain of Fun (New for 2018)
Macavalanche. The Scottish Enduro with the crazy mass-start stage down a snow slope. Macavalanche is a three stage Enduro race that takes place on Glencoe mountain in Scotland. It’s renowned for its big scenery, friendly vibe and stage 3 for the ‘mass start’!
The Mountain of Fun based at Nevis Range will use the same format as the Macavalanche using the world famous trails and pistes of this formidable mountain.
The race formats are quite simple two or three stages of blind racing, the first stage or stages will determine start positions for the final stage which run from high on the mountain side back to the base station.
The Endurance Downhill
Re-introduced in 2017, this race on one of the longest and most physically demanding courses on the international mountain bike circuit. Riders of this grueling event will need physical strength, quick reflexes, superb bike control and an unnerving eye for the right line as they speed down the 2.82km track. They will also need huge amounts of stamina in order to ride the track as many times as possible in six hours!
Tour De Ben Nevis
Now a mainstay of the No Fuss calendar the Tour de Ben Nevis stays true to its word of ‘bringing mountain biking back to the mountains.’ A 72km circumnavigation of Ben Nevis from Fort William, the Outdoor Capital of the UK. This is one of the country’s longest point-to-point events; an MTB endurance and mountain marathon event all rolled into one.
Endurance racing over 24hrs, with categories which include solo, pairs and teams of 3, 4 and 8. Relentless 24 has become a classic on any 24 hour MTB specialists calendar. With a gap in 2018 to accommodate the WEMBO Championships Relentless 24 will return in 2019.
This races was the UK's first ever Enduro World Series qualifying event in 2016 and again in 2017. Kinlochleven is the home of big mountain stages that will test every enduro rider. Always a great day on the bikes and one of Scotland's must do races.
Marathon De Ben Nevis
No Fuss Event’s ultimate mountain running event, this is one for the endurance athletes and people with a sense of adventure and seeking a challenge. The Marathon de Ben Nevis is the race that will take participants on a magnificent journey circumnavigating Ben Nevis starting from Fort William the heart of the Outdoor Capital of the UK.
Cowal Way Chase (Ultra)
No Fuss Events introduced this event in 2017, a 50km route to challenge the toughest and most seasoned of athletes, a great distance for those just getting into longer distance running and looking for a more relaxed day out. With nearly 4000ft of ascent, the route takes runners over some varied terrain with hard packed paths, loose gravel and slightly technical forest roads, giving participants views over some of the best scenery that one of Scotland's greatest long distance trails has to offer.
Runduro is a multi-stage running event taking in some of the Outdoor Capital of the UK's most popular running routes. The format breaks the route down into stages, so you can race the stages, enjoy the transitions and await your cumulative time for the days racing. Its social, its fun, it's about strategy.
The Wee Tri's
The Wee Triathlon's are pool-based triathlons involving a 400m swim, 10-mile bike ride (hybrid and road) and a 3-mile cross country run. These are a perfect, very doable triathlons aimed at beginners and those looking to stay motivated and over the winter months. The Wee Tri's have only one ‘quick’ transition, between the bike and run, so is even more suited to those just starting out in multi-sport.
Cowal Way Chase (Gravel Road Race)
No Fuss Events introduced the Cowal Way Chase in 2017, a 72km gravel road ride to challenge the growing army of gravel warriors. With nearly 4000ft of ascent and guaranteed some of the most spectacular vistas that the west coast peninsula has to offer it really is one of Scotland's best kept secrets .
