EP2 Installation Overview Overview This document provides links to the installation manuals for each of the Wire Harnesses needed to complete an EP2 installation. Pinouts Harness Installation Mounting of the EP2 Module Locate a convenient mounting area for the EP2 Module within the main electrical panel at the front of the vehicle. Before securing the unit, check to ensure that its location is central enough so that all the required Harnesses can reach the EP2. Secure the unit to the wall using the double-sided tape provided. Screws may also be used to further secure the unit. Insert Harnesses into their respective ports, ensuring that the colored dots match up before inserting the Harness into the System. Tech Tip: Create a ‘loop’ in the attached wire Harnesses so that water does not flow into the Main Alarm Unit.

Activating the Child Check-Mate System® Turn the ignition 'ON'. The System will make quick beeping tones for 2 seconds. This indicates that the System has power. Wait 12 Seconds and then trigger the activation wire. Activate the System by using the Input where the Brown Wire (6-PH Wire #5) is tied in. The System will generate 2 long tones or if a Speaker is installed the system will announce "Child Check-Mate is now activated" to indicate that the System is activated. Turn ignition 'OFF'. The System Alarm (a high-pitched beeping) will begin to sound. If connected, the interior lights will illuminate. Wait 8 seconds. The EP1plus will change frequency of tones. The vehicle Horn will begin to pulse 'ON' and 'OFF'. Tech Tip: This step is to confirm that the Horn is properly connected. The Horn does not need to sound during regular operation. Turn ignition 'ON'. All alarms will be silenced. The system will beep every 30 seconds, or if a Speaker is fitted it will announce "please conduct your child search now", until timeout as a reminder to perform your child search. If connected, the interior lights will remain illuminated. Depress the Reset Button for 2-3 seconds. The System will emit a confirmation tone or if a Speaker is fitted it will announce "Child Check-Mate is now deactivated." If connected, the interior lights will remain illuminated for 120 seconds (default) or the specified time as per the specified program. Turn ignition 'OFF' and keys can now be safely removed.
