Elevate is a new kind of Summer Camp. Elevate provides an engaging and dynamic summertime experience that encourages your children to rise up and fully engage their world! All kids in our program are young leaders in training! Our camps are led by caring , well trained and energetic mentors who are excited to connect with your child/youth. Our camps are focused on the development of meaningful relationships, fostering the gift of empathy and setting a foundation for a life of leadership. We strive for these core qualities all the while enjoying all the best experiences that summertime in coastal British Columbia can provide! These 3 key objectives really benefit children and youth, who need continued development in the areas of social skills, dealing with disappointment and managing anxiety. All participants are being trained up to Elevate their lives by becoming compassionate leaders. For children and youth who are on the Autism Spectrum, with Behavioural Challenges or struggling with anxiety, we find this to be a socially appropriate way to work on their needs in and amongst a group of their peers. Everyone is working on something and we are all in progress! With the Elevate Summer Experience we work together to develop into the kind of Leaders who do the absolute best with what we have. We are invested in being the type of people that help produce good things for our community. True leaders are producers in the world not just consumers! We need all kinds of brains and all kinds of people in our communities, so Hive’s Summer Experience is open to everyone! Invite your friends, peers or siblings! This is our first summer in full operation and we are so excited to offer the community this different kind of summer experience!

Leadership Development and Social Skills Worked Right In: -Every afternoon is a "Flex Afternoon" where children get to choose their own adventure, work on compromising and social skills, while deciding as a group what activity they will attend. Children are placed in Mentorship groups of 3-6 kids and operate as a team during the entire camp. -Children will benefit from learning how to deal with disappointment when they see their Leaders externally process disappointment in calculated situations. Whether the Aquarium is, "surprisingly" closed for cleaning on the day we plan to attend or a leader, "forgets" to bring money to pay for tickets, the enjoyment of the day will not be impacted, but the children will be impacted from the valuable lessons they will observe as they are invited in to be a part of the solution! -Children will have the opportunity of a more customized summer. If it is raining one afternoon their mentorship group may choose to go to the movies instead of the skate park. With the small group and high staff ratio we are able to easily make these adaptations in our day. If
