A Few Tips to Prepare your Child for Kindergarten
Engage in clear communication. Teachers appreciate when you keep them up to date with any changes such as changes in child's routines, staying home due to illness, early pick up.
Practice daily life skills such as putting on a jacket, tying shoes, washing hands, using the toilet, taking turns, and listening.
Point out letters and numbers (1- 10) in the real world. Depending on the child's readiness, practice saying aloud and identifying the alphabets, their sounds, and numbers 1 - 10.
Show your child how to write his or her name. Practice having them identify it.
Set limits on technology and engage your child in conversation.
Saying a quick goodbye-some may cry, but believe us, they stop quicker than you think.
