Written by Jay Hobgood, Ph. D., The Ohio State University The weather pattern for the first part of April will be very similar to the pattern at the end of March. A series of storms will move quickly across the U.S. into the Southern Plains. Those storms will then move toward the Great Lakes and bring warm, rainy conditions to Ohio. There will be a brief cool down after each storm passes, but then the temperatures will rise above normal again. Two or three storms will affect the state during most weeks. The cumulative effect of the storms will be to cause the average temperature to be above normal during April. The total rainfall from the storms will also result in above normal precipitation for most parts of Ohio during the month.
