Villa Healthcare has launched an exciting rebrand, but it’s not about changing who we are. It’s about changing our branding to better reflect who we are: a premier provider of care that is refreshingly different from other post-acute and skilled nursing facilities. We have a story to tell, and it starts and ends with making people better – our guests, first and foremost, but also every single other person who our Villa team encounters in our daily interactions. We strive to make the families of our guests feel better about their loved one’s recovery process, welcoming and including them in care plans and communications. We want our employees to be better every day in the care they provide, so we also focus great care on their needs with ongoing training, personal mentoring and a supportive work environment. This “making people better” ideology extends all the way to hospital personnel and our stakeholders. After all, our success directly impacts their success as well. Through this rebrand, we aim to convey our story more clearly and offer a fresh look that also represents Villa’s ongoing commitment to growth, renovations and other new opportunities to give our guests the very best.
Rebranding highlights New logo – This includes a new design, messaging and overall brand colors. New Villa Intranet:
A Tribute to Our Physicians for National Doctors Day
“Selecting a career in medicine was a promising choice for me, as it brought me honor, gratitude and satisfaction. As I treat my patients, I am honored to gain their trust upon giving medical advice; I am grateful to be exposed to the resources available, which assist me in molding my clinical judgment; I am amused upon discovering the answer to a medical mystery. Choosing to service the Chicagoland area allows me to become a positive extension to our community.” – Dr. Hamdi Khilfeh, Illinois “Growing up in a family of healthcare providers, I knew I would eventually do something in healthcare. I realized my passion for becoming a physician when an elderly lady fell in the middle of the street when I was fourteen. I helped her up and waited with her until help arrived. The feeling of providing help, comfort and care to someone was indescribable and has never left me. Since then, I have either volunteered or worked in a hospital. My patients put a smile on my face, and that is all that matters.” – Dr. Isaure Yates, Illinois My name, Aleksander, means ‘Protector of the weak.’ When I learned that, I felt I had no choice but to become a doctor. I appreciate working with Villa because it offers a friendly atmosphere and a dedicated, responsive staff that knows their patients and treats them like close family members. Villa’s electronic health record system is catching up to the hospital level of use.” – Dr. Aleksandar Rosich, Wisconsin “An apple a day!” – Dr. Joseph Singerman, Michigan
Thank you to our Villa physicians for all that they do for us and our guests. We asked four of our physicians why they became doctors:
Villa Healthcare will soon introduce an intranet, or private network, to allow our team members even greater engagement and a stronger voice within our company and, ultimately, to further enhance our overall internal culture. Why is this important to you? People are what make the difference between providing care and providing premier care. At Villa, our top priority is to put our guests in the hands of the very best caregivers – people who will go beyond providing medical services to providing a positive experience that includes warmth and compassion, meaningful connection and valuable communication. The quality difference you see at Villa comes from our commitment to not only finding the right employees, but also to investing in their ongoing personal and professional development and in their happiness at Villa. We know that when we take great care of our employees, they will naturally take great care of our guests. Our new intranet will help us take care of our valuable team by: Keeping employees actively engaged with the company, each other and the communities we serve Fostering a rewarding teamwork environment at Villa – with the opportunity to earn points and “Villa swag” for various activities and to share in videos, blogs and other company happenings Providing easy access to all policies, benefits and other resources needed to uphold Villa standards throughout their workdays Intranets are not typical in the skilled nursing facility industry, nor is it common to use an intranet for more than hosting policies and other “HR” references. But again, Villa isn’t your ordinary care facility. We want to be extraordinary for your benefit.
With the recent passing of Jim Leonard, The Villa at the Bay administrator, Villa Healthcare has lost someone very dear to our organization and everyone he encountered. Jim’s great sense of humor and “people-person” nature brought a smile to many, and he enjoyed spending time with our guests by serving them at daily meals and joining them for lunch. He was known to sing through the hallways (and at our Villa talent shows) and come to work dressed as the geriatric Elvis Presley. He also wore many hats at his job – literally – from his enormous hat collection. Jim was a huge fan of the University of Michigan and loved funny movies, sailing, the outdoors and animals; in fact, he had 25 dogs. In his honor, Villa Healthcare is donating funds to the local humane society and getting a memorial brick in his name, and we also plan to memorialize Jim with a statue on our garden patio. Additionally, since Jim saved many lives by donating much of his body, we have raised funds for donation to Gift of Life. We are saddened to have to say goodbye to Jim, and we send our condolences to his family. We will always be grateful that our lives were touched by Jim’s positivity and kindness.

Honoring Jim Leonard
We continue our exciting progress on the renovation and beautiful transformation of several Villa locations. The modern, brightly lit spaces reinforce our commitment to offering a luxurious, peaceful and uplifting healing environment.
The Villa at Middleton Village Middleton, WI A recent sneak peek at the renovations showed community partners, social workers, physicians and other hospital employees that there is a lot to love at The Villa at Middleton Village. Update on Villa Renovations
The Villa at Lincoln Park, Racine, WI A similar “Heart Hat” tour also took place at The Villa at Lincoln Park, which is receiving a massive overhaul of space and décor. See the accompanying photos for a glimpse into the beautiful facelift underway. Renovations at The Villa at Lincoln Park have included extending the building to create a brand-new therapy gym – the largest one in Racine, WI. A brand-new bistro offers another beautiful eating and social space that is separate from the dining room. In addition to a luxurious new dining room (pictured), The Villa at Lincoln Park will also feature a separate new resident and family lounge, a freshly remodeled activities area, and a new lobby and reservations office.
The Villa at Osseo, Osseo, MN A total renovation of guest rooms at The Villa at Osseo is underway, increasing the number of private accommodations and refreshing all rooms with new flooring, furnishings and décor. The remodel will also add dining spaces at the end of hallways, offering guests easier access with this convenient alternative to taking the elevator to the main dining space. Once The Villa at Osseo’s guest room renovations are complete in late spring or early summer, the common area will be next.
The Villa at Evergreen Park is on an admirable winning streak lately. The most notable recent accomplishment was receiving the Achievement Award from Advocate, which is presented to skilled nursing, long-term acute care, and rehabilitation facilities that meet Advocate’s standards for quality. The Villa at Evergreen Park met the following goals for the entire calendar year to win the award, putting Evergreen in the top rankings of Advocate’s Post-Acute Network (PAN) of over 35 facilities in the state: Captured the Advocate Home Health referral rate of 80% or better Maintained the average length of stay for full-risk Medicare patients Maintained a low readmission ratio To top it off, The Villa at Evergreen Park also battled hunger by collecting over 1,300 food items, ultimately winning Villa Healthcare’s recent company-wide food drive. The facility even took first place in Villa’s social media “Mannequin Challenge!” The Villa at Evergreen Park got all departments involved for their video interpretation of the popular internet trend, where participants remain frozen in action like mannequins while a moving camera films them. Congratulations to everyone at The Villa at Evergreen Park on all of the good work!
