2017-2018 School Year
The pantry is open the first Thursday of the month from 3:30-5:00pm.

How it Works: If your family needs our services, and you have a student here at school, come visit us! We stock a variety of items, depending on what is donated. A line forms outside near entrance #8 at the high school. On your first visit each school year, you have a short form to fill out. After your first visit, you simply check in each time and let us know of any changes. Additional information is hanging in our pantry room.
Conditions of Use: The Raider Pantry is open to any family who has at least one currently enrolled South Ripley student (K-12) who resides with the person coming to pick up food. One pickup per household per month. Enrollment is verified. Families who do not meet these qualifications may be unable to receive services. Food is only distributed on regularly scheduled pantry dates.
Schedule Changes: If there is no school on the regularly scheduled pantry day because of bad weather, the pantry will be open the following Thursday.
If you do not need the Food Pantry’s services but do wish to donate, please contact Mrs. Cumberworth (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Mrs. VanTassel (email@example.com).
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAYS
As an A-rated school district, South Ripley qualifies for the time flexibility to Performance Qualified School Districts. This allows us to carve out release time for student in order to offer Professional Development for staff. We have added five minutes to the end of the student school day at each building, while keeping the teacher contact day the same. This will provide us with 900 extra minutes of instructional time (5 min x 180 days). These additional minutes allowed for six "late arrival" school days in which students will arrive two-hours late and the staff will report at the regular time for PD activities.
Bus service will remain the same, with your child being picked up exactly two hours later than normal.
South Ripley's first PD Day will occur Wednesday, August 16. Breakfast will not be served on that day and bus service will still be provided.
Below is a list of all the PD days for the 2017-18 school year.
Solar Eclipse 2017
On August 21st, we would like to have the entire school view the solar eclipse outside. The eclipse is estimated to begin around 1:00 or so. Our area will see about 93-95% coverage at about 2:24 p.m. Students must be wearing proper glasses to view the eclipse. We have graciously received proper viewing glasses from Tyson Library and Osgood Library for our students to view the eclipse. Parent permission slips were sent home on Friday. We must have a permission slip on file in order for your child to take part in the outside viewing. Please have your child turn their permission slip in by August 18th to their first period teacher.
