Trinity Investments & Oaktree to form a $3 Billion Hotel JV
Trinity Investments LLC ("Trinity") and funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. ("Oaktree") announced the formation of a joint venture to invest up to $3 billion in high-quality, value added hotels in Trinity’s core markets: Hawaii, California, Mexico and Japan. The joint venture will seek to invest alongside global institutional and high net worth partners in these markets.
This strategic partnership follows Trinity and Oaktree’s recent acquisition of the long-term leasehold interest in The Westin Maui Resort & Spa from an affiliate of Starwood Hotels & Resorts. On a selective basis, the joint venture may also pursue hotel investments in select gateway markets in the United States. Trinity will oversee the joint venture and be responsible for its acquisitions and asset management.

Hilton Grows Presence in India with Signing of DoubleTree by Hilton Shirdi
Hilton, and DoubleTree by Hilton announced the signing of a management agreement with Trillion Real Estate & Properties Private Limited for a new DoubleTree by Hilton property in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Scheduled to open in Q1 2019, DoubleTree by Hilton Shirdi will be located at Shirdi's historical town centre, marking Hilton's entry into the popular pilgrimage destination. The latest addition increases Hilton's pipeline of hotels in India to 19 properties.

Two New Radisson Blu Hotels Open In Saudi Arabia
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts announced that Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo is set to open on 16 November 2017. The hotel will begin taking bookings from 1 September 2017 for stays from 1 December 2017. Marriott International announced that construction will begin in the fourth quarter on the 16-story, $282 million JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort, which will provide Orlando visitors a new option for luxury accommodations.
The 516-room hotel will be built on the last available site zoned for hotel use in Bonnet Creek, a 482-acre, mixed-use resort community near Orlando’s popular theme parks. Marriott International’s turnkey management solution, Managed by Marriott (MxM), will operate the hotel when it opens in first quarter 2020.
The JW Marriott at Bonnet Creek is owned and developed by DCS Investment Holdings, a private equity group based in West Palm Beach, Florida. DCS Investment Holdings is recognized as a leading developer of residential and commercial real estate, including residential towers, master-planned communities and millions of square feet in retail and office space. The company is owned by Dwight C. Schar, co-owner of the Washington Redskins and founding chairman of NVR Inc., one of America’s largest homebuilders.

New property will be first in the country to operate under the dusitD2 brand Thailand-based, global hospitality company Dusit International has signed a management agreement with Ha Dat Company Limited to operate dusitD2 Vung Tau, the first dusitD2 branded property in Vietnam, slated to open in Q2 2018.
Situated approximately 90km from Ho Chi Minh City in the south of Vietnam, Vung Tau is the former capital of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province and is spectacularly located on a peninsula with extensive beaches. Hilton Hotels & Resorts announced the Opening of Hilton Yantai
The new IntercityHotel Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Süd will open for business by the beginning of 2019. Offering 400 guest rooms, six conference rooms, a bar and a restaurant, it will become the largest hotel to operate under the IntercityHotel brand and will also feature the new interior design concept created by the Italian architect Matteo Thun.
The building which will house the hotel is currently under construction as part of a major regeneration scheme for a larger site lying to the South of Frankfurt Main Station, progress on which can be viewed via a special webcam. The IntercityHotel Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Süd will be located within the direct proximity of a new bus station offering inter-city services and near a newly constructed multi-storey public car park.

A new Intercityhotel for Frankfurt City Centre
Mantra Group announced it has entered into an agreement with the Deague Group to acquire the Australian-owned Art Series Hotel Group for approximately $52.5 million (excluding transaction costs), subject to customary completion conditions.
The acquisition will see seven luxury hotels (representing more than 1,000 guest rooms and including a number of conference and event facilities, restaurants and luxury hotel-style amenities) added to Mantra Group's ever-expanding portfolio of 128 properties and more than 21,500 rooms in properties under management across Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and Hawaii.

Mantra Group Acquires Art Series Hotel Group
Hilton's (NYSE: HLT) Hampton by Hilton brand, the global mid-priced hotel known for providing travelers with its signature Hamptonality service, announces the signing of Hampton by Hilton Santiago Las Condes in Chile. Mauna Kea Resort LLC, announced it has signed a franchise agreement with Westin Hotels & Resorts to debut the renowned wellness hospitality brand on the Big Island of Hawaii, with the $46 million renovation and conversion of Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel to become The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort in February of 2018.
