Peace, Love, and… PUPPIES!
“There’s nothing like a puppy.” Says Diane M., breeder and owner of Peace Love Havanese. Diane has devoted her whole life to breeding these beautiful Havanese dogs. “Our dogs and puppies were chosen to represent the Havanese breed for Animal Planet on their series “Too Cute Puppies”, she says, proudly. Havanese are wonderful, intelligent, and loving dogs. They are on the smaller side and very cute. Diane says, “These dogs are magic.”
Since Diane was a kid, her dream was to live with animals. And what better way to do that than breeding them! “All my life, I’ve had pretty bad animal allergies and asthma. I never thought there would be a way to realize my dreams. Then, I met an adorable 6 year old Yorkshire Terrier named Poochinella. She needed a home, and I couldn’t resist. That was just the beginning. My life changed. No sniffles or watery eyes & no problem breathing. Walla!
And here we all are now.”
Diane was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and lived most of her life in the Village on 9th Street. After many years of city life, she gathered up all of her courage and relocated to pursue her passion. Diane and her Yorkies went off to Woodstock. There, they opened Tails of Woodstock, a luxury pet boutique. “That is where I first met the Havanese breed. I just had to have one and the rest is history.” She claims.
Diane raises the puppies until they are old enough to go to new homes. She socializes them with people, children, and of course other dogs. “I begin to handle puppies very early.” She says. “They are loved and socialized, so that when they leave our home for yours, they have the confidence in themselves to thrive under your care.” Diane puts everything into consideration when matching a pup to a family. People are allowed to come and meet them, if the puppies are old enough. She also takes the pup to the vet before it goes home with its new owner.
Diane is an excellent breeder who cares about matching the right pup to the right family. All of her dogs and puppies eat quality food, are cleaned and groomed well, do not live in cages, and get good exercise in a safe area. She wants nothing more than for her puppies to find the right homes. Diane loves what she does. She loves each and every one of her puppies to pieces, and, in her words: “I LOVE MY JOB!” - Written by M.T.

A Deadly Do
This is a story about a hairstyle gone wrong. One day in the 1950’s a teenage girl was spending a lot of time getting ready for her high school dance. She wanted to look her best for the boy she liked who was going to be there. She got everything she needed. She bought a new dress and makeup, she borrowed a pair of heels from her friend, and put her hair in a beehive using sugar water. Her hair hardened overnight into a tall cone. Over a few weeks she didn’t wash her hair and
she used a lot of hair spray. Over these weeks she started feeling weak and sick and also had terrible headaches. She thought that she was just nervous about the dance. One morning in class her headache became worse it felt like tiny knives stabbing her head. Then she cry in pain and her head fell to her deck. The teacher found blood dripping down the side of her face. Turns out little critters starred eating her sugary hair and kept eating and eating until they started chomping her brain!

There are three different types of sea turtles and freshwater turtles.
Sea turtles live in florida and all of the
Places near the equator. They lay there eggs in the same place there parents layed there egg in. Sometimes divers find dead sea turtle bodys in coral reefs because when they die there bodys don’t float they sink to the bottom. Also they eat algae off the coral and also off the rocks on the bottom. Sometimes they eat small fish that look like sardines.
Freshwater turtles live all over the but not in the ocean or in very cold areas. They eat algae off the bottom but also eat tiny freshwater shrimp. Sometimes they will eat the wood to sharpen their beak. They also bask
in the sun to get warm and go in the water to get cool. Also they mostly spend time under ground in the winter to hibernate.
Hibernate- to go into a deep sleep slow your heart beat and do it all winter.
beak-the hard, curved mouth part of a bird; bill.

Jay Peak is a very fun ski mountain to go to. It is in Vermont. There is a Ski mountain right next to a great ski resort. The resort has an indoor water park, arcade with impossible claw games, and awesome suites. Now to the mountain, it has the best ski school ever! The instructors are super nice and during a break in the middle, you get to just sit in front of the TV and eat rice pudding but if you don’t like it or if you are just thirsty you get…. Of,course Hot Chocolate. If you don’t like the show that's on, ( which is only Tom and Jerry) you can draw or color a picture. When you do actually ski it is super fun. The ski school takes place on the top of the mountain, so when school is done, you go with a group of kids around your age and ski down the mountain with an instructor. One time, I was on the mountain with my group and we were learning how to dodge trees and things like that when you ski by your self. So anyway, I was standing at the top of the mountain, about to go down when my tooth fell right out into the snow! We all were down on our gloves and knees looking for it. I never found it but that night I told my mom and dad and put on a pillow in the middle of the room, a mini marshmallow(As the tooth), a joke, a plastic princess, and another mini marshmallow(for her to eat). She did come, Of,course, and I went to school again the next day and I was the only kid there that lost a tooth and every one was crowded around me until the instructor had to pull them away. Jay Peak was the best ski mountain/resort I ever went to!
