Man On The Move Calendar 2017
Men On The Move Calendar Project 2017
As the CEO of a Radio Broadcasting Network, it became apparent to me there were a lot of people making an impact one community at a time and one project at a time. I wanted to feature those individuals in a Calendar we have labeled Men On The Move. This Calendar will highlight the background of Men who are busy every day making this world a better place to live. They give of themselves, their time, and their talents. I am so honored to know them all. We opened up a Nomination in June and had a public voting in July 2016. This Calendar is a result of not only what I think about the individuals but, what people around the country know and believe. I am proud of this project and how it has changed the narrative. We are proud as a project and the men who represent it in 2016 and forward.
A huge thank you to the following people:

Pastor Harmon wears a number of hats-a career educator, licensed school administrator serving currently as an Assistant Administrator in Richland School District One, parent, community and at-risk youth advocate and activist, publicist, publisher, author, motivational speaker, husband and a father of two. Pastor Harmon is a small business owner in the northeast community where he runs a short-run book publishing company. He’s a parent of a charming, engaging and intelligent 5th grader in Richland School District Two, and a rising 12th grader who attends a year-round school in Raleigh, NC.
He is also the spouse of a fellow educator. He sits on a number of boards of directors—the South Carolina African American Chamber of Commerce, the South Carolina Corporate Coalition for Community Service, and Speak Up, Speak Now: Youth and Family Services Inc. among others. He is also a founding member and most recent Chairman of the Richland Two Black Parents Association-an advocacy group that works to address perceived inequities in access, assistance and exemplary educational choice for parents of students of color living in Northeast Richland County. His motto is that “great opportunities to transform the world are few and far between for the ordinary man, but small opportunities to contribute to extraordinary change and impact in the individual and a few are always before us.” Pastor Harmon spends his time mentoring young people, lecturing and training others on how to create impactful relationships with the next generation. He believes the more that a small, committed and convinced remnant can do with the limited resources they have, and faith in the unlimited source of power of their God, nothing is impossible and the heavens are the limit.

Henry Washington, Atlanta, Georgia
Henry Washington served our country for 25 years in the United States Army as a Criminal Investigator. He retired as a Major, and continued to serve our community by encouraging men to get checked for prostate cancer.
Community service was a natural and welcome transition for him. He served six tours overseas fighting for America’s freedom in Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Kuwait and the Balkans during combat and peace keeping missions. After retiring, he faced an even more personal battle when he received a prostate cancer diagnosis. When the Veteran’s Affairs Hospital called him on that Friday afternoon and told him that he had prostate cancer, he felt helpless and alone.
But, his battle touched his life spiritually in a very deep way and elevated his trust in God. It even inspired him to write about his life as a warrior both on the battlefield and in life. In his book, American Hero, A Soldier’s Story from Combat to Cancer, he describes his experiences growing up, the military career, and the battle with cancer. More importantly, he revealed how he was able to survive both military and health conflicts while maintaining peace and equanimity. He says....
"At various times, I have been a soldier, an author, a mentor, an entrepreneur, a civic participant, a cancer survivor, and a man of God. Instead of allowing life’s changes to cripple me, I chose to center my legacy on being a winner whose faith in God conquered the insurmountable. Instead of becoming bitter, I embraced my inner strengths. I humbly hope that my experiences provide other people a road map to pursue internal peace. American Hero, A Soldier’s Story from Combat to Cancer, had its debut release on Amazon.com in September 2015. I also serve as the Host of he Peace Within Talk Radio Show, powered by NHISG Network 101.1. "
Mabry later launched his collegiate career at the prestigious Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. While there he started A.G.A.P.E. Ministries-All God’s Anointed People Evangelizing-). A multi-cultural, non-denominational ministry that has encouraged the students

Coach Willie Miller,
Co-Founder, The Huddle Group
We at the Network call Coach Miller FRIEND. And, we are proud of his work. Simply put he serves the community. And, his passion for youth just didn't start over night. He has long journey and history of impacting our young minds. Coach Willie Miller is the Co-Creator/Founder of The Huddle Group. They are a non-profit organization based in Gwinnett County, Georgia that serves middle and high school students in the Metro Atlanta area.
Coach Miller and Founders say.....our desire is to create an environment for young people to be empowered with life skills and encouragement to be great leaders in our communities. We recognize that many of our young people have to make critical decisions every day in life. Those decisions are not easy to make with all the obstacles and distractions they face on a daily basis. Many times these obstacles and distractions prevent them from becoming the productive adults we need in our communities. At The Huddle, we believe that we can provide our youth with the opportunity to receive tools to help guide their decision making with all the obstacles and distractions they may face. We also believe that we can provide our youth with the opportunity to create habits that helps mold them into better and more productive leaders for themselves and our communities.
Our mission at The Huddle is to revitalize, empower, and encourage youth to assist them in becoming productive leaders in our community. We accomplish this mission through our six vision focus areas, which are health, unity, dedication, determination, leadership, and education. We offer opportunities for our youth to reach one or more of these focus areas through our various program areas. We have our Huddles, Huddle Fit, Huddle Leadership Academy, The Huddle Program and Huddle Outreach. Each of these programs lines up directly with one of our vision focus areas to ensure that our youth become productive leaders for them- selves and their communities.
Men On The Move Project recognizes the outstanding work of Willie Miller and his impact in the community.
