March 2017 Theme: Developing Kingdom Character
Inspirational Monthly Devotional
The mind of man can achieve great things. God told man to have dominion, subdue and replenish the earth. The natural man has shown that with a persistent drive to push the boundaries of knowledge and venture into the unknown, it is quite possible to keep attaining unto higher heights of excellence. The Burj Khalifa stands today arguably as the tallest man-made structure at 828m! Not only is it an architectural master piece but it also is an engineering feat of monumental proportions. The designers all ascribe this attainment to the successful study of previous structural achievements such as the historical Twin Towers, the Empire State Building, the Sears Tower and Taipei 101 amongst others and then daring the seemingly impossible. This is a kingdom principle that God expects His children to apply much more. The scriptures say that there is a spirit in man and the inspiration of the Almighty gives him understanding. This is what produces the genuine excellent spirit. Daniel was found to operate this spirit. He gained understanding through historical books and could do exploits for God by reason of this. Daniel was a man excellent in character, communication, persuasion and several other areas. In a similar vein God expects us to constantly evaluate our lives and see how each aspect can continue to push for excellence by going for knowledge, following Godly examples and applying ourselves to mentorship. This is our forth core value as a church mission at Lifegate. May the Lord continue to help us develop the kindgom character of excellence in Jesus name. Amen. Meditation: Job 32:8, Dan. 5:1-13; Ps. 16:1-3; II Peter 1:2-4

Our fifth core value as a church mission is to trust in God and to trust one another as one body in Christ. Loving God and people with our abilities by faith and the spirit of excellence will be enhanced as we trust in God and trust one another. Trusting in God empowers us in diverse ways. He is Faithful, Perfect, Trustworthy and The Giver of Peace and hence we are to trust in Him. Trusting one another helps us to relate most effectively. Trusting one another does not equate to trusting IN one another. Only in God can we put our trust. However, when we trust one another we give room for mutual help like David and Jonathan, preservation like Saul, Ananias, Barnabas and others. May the Lord grant us the grace to trust in Him and the wisdom to know how to build trust into our relationships in Jesus name. Amen. Meditation: Prov. 3:5-6; Acts 9:20-30; Ps. 93:4-5; Prov. 11:13
Perseverance is defined as persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving seeming success. Theologically, it involves continued pursuit of a Godly goal and maintaining continuance in a state of grace. The end of all Godly perseverance is glory, beauty and honour. However, as we develop our Kingdom Character of Perseverance, our witness and testimonies are also enhanced. Furthermore, everyone who perseveres is a candidate of stronger and ever increasing faith. The scriptures calls upon us to persevere. We need to persevere in our lives, marriages, family life and all Godly pursuits. The church (body of Christ) is also called to persevere with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who promises to build His church and the gates of hell would be unable to prevail against it. May the grace to persevere continue to grow in us in Jesus' name. Amen. Meditation: Hebrews 10:19-39; Hebrews 12:1-2; Romans 5:3-4; Romans 8:37.

GENEROSITY is a kingdom character that facilitates the physical expression of the good thoughts/ intentions of one's heart. It is the expression of our LOVE for God and people using our God-given ABILITIES by FAITH and EXCELLENCE with TRUST in God. It also involves PERSEVERANCE so that we don't get weary doing the good. Furthermore, GENEROSITY is a principle of eternal life. It connects our earthly actions to heavens reactions. We must give to God and man Sacrificially, Joyfully and Gracefully. God rewards generosity through supernatural supply, supernatural increase and supernatural recompense. May the grace to be generous continue to abound for us in Jesus name. Amen. Meditation: Matthew 6:19-21; I Timothy 6:17-19; I John 3:16-18; Luke 21:1-4
